Great 1st book for Algebra 2
I bought this book for my 5th grader after a bit of research and comparing many books on this topic. I was looking for a book that wasn't too overwhelming for her with 1000+ pages and tons of problems. In less than 250 pages, this book introduces nearly all Algebra 2 topics (no Trigonometry covered) in a very simple manner and has a reasonable number of exercise problems to internalize the concepts. This is NOT an advanced Algebra 2 book but a great resource as a quick first Algebra 2 course. My daughter was able to finish the book in 3 weeks, averaging around 6-8 hours a week. What I also really like is the accompanying CD that has ~500 problems (difficulty level mostly low, some medium) organized by chapters for extra practice and she found them very good for revision. Highly recommend this book to familiarize with Algebra 2 concepts quickly before moving on to a textbook such as Larson's.

Excellent but...
Very good. But it lacks some important things like discontinuities, odd-even functions, Pascal's triangle, and a few other things which are actually tested in the authors same 1,001 Algebra 2 for Dummies book. Anyway, its got very good, clear explanations of all ideas along with clear example problems. So I still highly recommend it for review or self study.

C on the midterm to a B on the final
Really does well to explain the topics presented in the book. The order is a bit confusing and might have left one or two things out, I don't remember which, but it helped me to not feel like everything in class was going over my head.

Detailed explanation, problems worked out on a step by step !
CliffsNotes Algebra II Practice Pack 2010 edition by Mary Jane Sterling is a model of how a Mathematics textbook should be put out ! Problems worked out step by step, attention is drawn on characteristic details, the solutions are commented upon. Nothing is left to guessing.Pre-test and Post-test questions with comments on the answers.I had no hesitation in giving a 5-star. Great !
