Must have. Fun to read yet imparts important information and insight that is overlooked. Example is the writeup by Matt Hall called "Locations, Locations, Location" which will make you realize that is more than just x,y or latitude longitude that you need to accurately define a location. If you are thinking Ah.... it is the projection system that is missing, you are doing good but if you missed out on datum, you will like the article.

Thanks to the editors I now know how to do geology. I'm not saying I can tell the difference between schist and gneiss, but wowzer, I could sure tell some folks where to drill for oil.

The collection of essays narrates the experiences of veteran geoscientists, especially in the oil and gas industry. Highly recommended for students and young professionals.

Great book. Many good insights and interesting points of view from experienced industry professionals.

Excellent review of many petroleum geology items as well as general geology. Worthwhile for anyone seriously interested in the Geosciences.
