Encouragements for the Emotionally Abused Woman: Wisdom and Hope for Women at Any Stage of Emotional Abuse Recovery

Great little book to bring quick encouragements when one is so down and out that 3 or 4 sentences is about the max that can be handled at any given time. I think the author realized that fact and created this little gem to gently bring survivors back from that beaten down feeling that plagues abused people no matter what the relationship--work, marriage, parents, church, or D.Trump.

I am out of my bad relationship, but these devotions help keep me strong and remind me of all the reasons I left. They are sooo clear and nurturing though, that they would be great to encourage a gal still in a bad relationship to GET OUT, but in a gentle, explanatory way. Buy it for yourself AND for a friend who needs it!

I wish I had read this book years ago. It has solid inspiration and insights for any woman who has been abused, regardless of how long ago. I especially like the format, which is easy to read one or two pages a day and still gain a strong message.This is a great book for young women who need to understand the danger signs of potential abuse and how to value themselves in the face of such behavior.

One of the most helpful books I've ever read. Don't judge it by it's cover. The lessons this book teaches are crucial to heal and learn to love yourself. One of the best books in my library. A true gem.

I can't speak to the value of this book personally, as I purchased it for a friend who is going through a very rough time after leaving an abusive marriage. But she has told me repeatedly that she finds it very comforting, and refers to it often. I also purchased "Emotional Blackmail" by Donna Frazier and "Why Does He Do That?" by Lundy Bancroft. She found both of these to be very helpful as well.

I have seen the recipient with this book enough times now to know it was well-received, and has become a favorite. Anyone who has been emotionally abused needs to understand the cycle that breaks them down. More importantly they need to know there is hope to build them up again! This book seems to help so it is serving its purpose well.

As a co-facilitator of various women's support groups, this book is passed around for each person to read, at their difference stages of recovery from domestic abuse. Very hopeful, very comforting, very well written wish I could give this book 10 stars.
