No Frills Dependable Pump
When the March pump blew, I decided to go with a different manufacturer. This one seems to be built well and is offered at a fair price considering the SS front end. Throttles down for sparging without getting super hot. Prime it once at beginning of batch and it's off to the races. I can't find anything wrong with it so it gets 5 stars.

Lousy Pump and Poor Customer Support
Very Disappointed. Appearance of quality but does not perform as advertised and vendor response not what I expect through Amazon. Pump was set up and plumbed using 1/2" stainless fittings, one full port ball valve out of the vessels and heavy wall 1/2" i.d. silicone hoses and minimal bends. Also full port ball valve on pump discharge. Would not reliably pump water or wort over 160 F. to a net lift of less than 2 ft. even with 2-3 feet of NPSH above the pump inlet. Sometimes would pump a bit then stall and quit pumping or cavitate, Made sure there were no air bubbles and tried throttling discharge to no avail. Disassembled and examined pump and no visible defects. Pump design is junk. The "impeller" is more like a paddle wheel than a true pump impeller (I have over 20 years experience with industrial pumps and pumping systems). Requested refund and was told by seller they could not refund, but if I return the pump AT MY OWN EXPENSE they would try to get it covered under warranty. This is BS!

Great brew pump!
Great pump, but my impeller got stuck after just one use. I disassembled the head and you could feel the impeller sticking on the end of the shaft. did a little bit of research and found this to be a pretty common issue with both the chugger and march pumps. Used a drill bit (sized to match the shaft) and used my hand to gently clean up the hole. End of the shaft had a small burr, I cleaned it with a nail file and some scotchbrite and put it all back together, and it's working perfectly now! been through several brew days and it's a work horse! 5 stars had I not had to do the "tuning".

Welcome to the future
This pump is fantastic. Quiet and works like a champ. Be sure to gravity feed to prime the pump. I also recommend a ball valve on the output to better control the flow (the liquid will come out incredibly quickly without this, which may be undesirable). Will make your life better!

I have a problem with one of my pumps. ...
I have a problem with one of my pumps. If I turn the output to full blast, there is a loud rattling sound that seems to come from the fan on the motor. If I reduce the output to 1/2 or less, the noise stops. I can get the output to about 3/4 of the way open before the noise starts up again. Has anyone experienced this?

Pump came defective.
I bought 2 chugger pumps for a brew stand I have been building for months, I finally finished yesterday. First time I did a test run also the first time plugging in pumps. 1 of the 2 didn't work. Probably to late to return.

Good choice
This pump works great. Just remember to prime the pump before running. It should not be run dry.
