Love these
This is my first pair of ikebana scissors so I wasn’t sure what to expect. If you’re expecting typical scissors, then you need to be aware that these are held differently due to the design without openings for your fingers. The scissors though are easy to use once you know how to hold them. The blades are very sharp and easily cut even small branches used in the floral arrangements. I highly recommend these to the professional florist or household novice who wants quality cuts on flower stems that will make your floral arrangement last longer when using the correct techniques.

A cutting pleasure
Note: I am not a Vine Voice and I pay for all the items for which I write reviews. Amazon invited me to “Vine,” but I declined. These Japanese flower scissors are the real deal. It’s amazing how perfectly balanced they are, how accurately they cut and the quality you feel as soon as you pick them up. They are sharp, so be careful handling them. They make you feel like a professional Ikebana artist. There’s nothing like having the right tools when approaching a craft. I gave them to a friend who has a lovely garden but never cuts his flowers for the house. I hope these scissors inspired him to bring his lovely cuttings inside. After all, the only thing you can do with a flower is cut its stem, then the rest is up to the artist to create the balance, direction, attitude, mass, line, and the all important void.

easy flower cutting
I was first introduced to this type of schears when I took an Ikebana class. I've been usingmy shears for several years now. My daughter in law saw me using them for a flowerarrangement and asked about them. I decided to buy her a pair for Christmas and I threwin another pair for myself. They arrived in a timely manner and I am very happy.
