Nice!
I've only had these a few days, so I can't comment on durability over the long haul - but on the "adorability" scale, they are 5 stars! I spent a lot of time trying to figure out sizing because I had received a pair of Uggs Ainsley slippers which turned out to be too small. So here are my details, in hopes it will help someone else. My regular shoe size is a 6 1/2. Depending on the style of shoe, I may go down to a 6 or up to a 7. The size 6 Ainsley slippers were too short, tight overall, and narrow. Enter the Giesswein Women's Somo Slipper,37 EU (6 M US). Most reviewers mentioned that these run large - and I agree - these are a "large" 6, These fit perfectly for me. They are just roomy enough that I can wear socks, but not too roomy that I MUST wear socks. They don't slip at the heels at all. The rubbery sole is very flexible and excellent on hardwood stairs. The inner & removable liner has good arch support. I love these slippers so much I almost feel like NOT wearing them in order to preserve them forever!

I was not that happy with them
I am Japanese. This means that I always take off shoes when I am inside. When my doctor told me that to treat plantar fasciitis I must not walk around barefoot in my house, I order this pair of slippers. They are cute and cosy (a bit too large for me). I wore them all the time when I was inside the house (never outside) as my doctor told me to do. Unfortunately, I was not that happy with them. First, the sole wore out far more quickly than I expected. Second, the arch support of these slippers is not as good as I hoped -- definitely not good enough for someone with planter fasciitis. I found far cheaper pairs of slippers in Japan with far better arch support with the 10th of the price I paid for these slippers. I wish Amazon sell more slippers with better arch support...

Cute and comfortable
I bought these to replace an old pair in the same style that my puppy chewed on. I was sad to see that the fabrication has changed a bit since the last time I purchased them, (and I believe the photo in this listing is of the older version). Where on the old style the pink flower was anchored only at the center and unattached petals of thick felt stood up, on my new pair the entire (much thinner, flatter) flower is sewn down. I prefer the more handmade, quirky look of the older style, but since the flower is what my puppy ate on my old pair, it might be better that these are sewn flat. I think the overall fit of the slipper has improved, though. These hug my foot better than my old, very wide pair did. You do need to order a size down, or even more. I take 8.5 or 9 US in a shoe, but ordered these in a 7 US. They are just big enough. And by the way, the correct style name for these is Spital, not Somo!

So glad I bought these.........
These slippers are one of the best buys I've made in a long while. I hesitated, thinking they were too expensive. My feet and legs though at the end of the day were achy after standing in the kitchen etc., without any arch support in my cheapo, tired, old slippers. So I made the leap and purchased these wonderful, warm, but not hot, slippers. It took a day or two to get used to the arches and I tottered around the house getting used to them. Now though, I can hardly stand to wear anything else. I've had to talk myself out of wearing them to the store and just might still, when all the snow and wet is gone. If anything I wish they were available in half sizes as I'd like to get a half size bigger because I like a little less snug fit. Not saying they are to small though. I am very pleased with my wonderful, cozy slippers.

When the Dogs are Barking, These Quiet Them
I have challenging feet. Nerve damage, no arches and a toe that points to the opposite foot instead of the more common bunion. Buying or having shoes made to accommodate these issues is hit or miss, motly miss. When I find a shoe or slipper that I can actually tolerate walking in for a length of time, it’s an occasion to buy as many pairs as I can budget for over a period of time. This is is my second purchase of these slippers. Not cheap but worth every cent. Cool and comfortable in 100+ summer temps, reassuringly warm during winter. These are the slippers I take with me when visiting friends’ homes where street shoes aren’t worn indoors. And these are the slippers that inspired me to look for woolen street shoes (Allbirds highly recommended for support and comfort).

My feet tend to swell, so the part around the top of your foot can get uncomfortable if worn too long or if you are on your feet too much.

Giesswein boiled wool slippers
I am typically a European size 40, and same here. I love the Giesswein footbed, and there is nothing as comfortable year-round as boiled wool except maybe sheepskin, but boiled wool is washable! This is my second pair. My first ones were sadly destroyed by a dog we had just adopted, so make sure you keep yours in the closet when they aren't on your feet. If I am home, 99% of the time, I will have boiled wool slippers with the excellent and supportive footbed on. So long as I protect them from a nervous dog, I expect these to last years. They are a great investment for comfort, and are frankly better for my disc disease in the spine than any pair of shoes I own. Lightweight at only about 7 ounces. And this indoor outdoor sole means you can take the trash out or go outside to check the weather in your slippers. Can't say enough good things.
