Origin Live Alliance Tonearm

Replaced a Rega RB101 on a RP1 which has had some other upgrades done (RP6 subplatter and platter, DC Motor) - those upgrades made noticeable differences, but I still wasn't getting the sound I was expecting. The low end particularly just wasn't all there.Setting up the Alliance is what finally brought it all together - easily the most significant performance impact I've made with my deck. It delivers everything seemingly effortlessly whereas the 101 - it was like it was trying to keep up. Couldn't be happier with this arm. Sound: 9/10The other big thing vs the Rega is VTA. It's not quite as easy as a lot of other arms out there, but just having it there is all you need. And once it's set then you don't have to worry about it unless you change your cartridge anyway. The anti-skate is a proper adjustable anti-skate as you can see - though to be fair, the spring whatever thing in the RB101 did a pretty decent job as it was. Also worth mentioning there's a discrete ground cable now. Features: 7/10Build quality - well I'm not going to test this obviously, but this thing is solid. I've had it in place for around six months or so now, nothing even a little bit loose, even that tiny alan screw for the anti-skate adjustment that you just know is going to loosen on you - hasn't. At all. And I'd be a liar if I said the aesthetics weren't a part of the enjoyment too. I mean look at it, it's just a gorgeous arm. 10/10Value wise, well I'd like to hear an apples to apples comparison with the RB300 - this is a little bit less expensive and gets you VTA. No regrets with this investment.

Great replacement for my damaged Rega tone arm on a Planar 3. Much improved sound. Easy to setup.

A stunning tonearm for the money on an arm azzure upgraded turntable originated from a rega P1. The tonearm really brings to life the entire upgrade for a.deck that now sounds like a £4-5k turntable. Stunning musicality and killer bass and brightness. Can't recommend this enough. It brings joy.
