The cutting takes place in two instance: one in the external shredder ring and then in the internal cutting impeller. These pumps are suitable for installation in sewages, galleries, excavation sites, wells, channels, underground parks, basements, etc. Complete unit is heavy duty, portable and compact. The float switch can automatically turn off the pump when the water level is too low preventing it from getting overheated or overloaded thus ensuring the security and reliability. Can be operated continuously without damage when fully submerged. The motor is fully submerged in oil-filled chamber. Buyer beaware
The pump jammed from baby wipes within 48 hours of being installed which is not a dealbreaker but I'm sure not very happy about it . It also comes delivered with a barbed outlet on it that you're going to have to find flex hose to adapt to any pipe that meets code. It has a 120 V plug factory wired on it that has blue for positive brown for negative and green yellow for ground . On the good side it pumps like a lifter on steroids and costs less than half of the liberty pump that I had to replace after 2 1/2 years which was three months after its warranty ran out . To add insult to injury the pumpkin place I took it to set it would cost as much to rebuild it as it costs new . Needless to say liberty is dead to me .

Plugs and then burns up
I've been through 2 of these pumps now within 3 months. Only being used to pump dirty water out of a floor drain pit.They plug up easily and then burn themselves up. The second almost started a fire. The cord was found smoking and the wire burned through the rubber outer layer before the circuit breaker in the building tripped.
