Ephesians (N. T. Wright for Everyone Bible Study Guides)

I'm not completely sold on Wrights theology for multiple reasons, BUT the questions, while a little long winded, and sometimes confusing, has inspired some amazing conversations and if you choose to go a little deeper in your study of scripture it's certainly not boring. Not for new believers We've done the peter & jude, Romans, Galatians and are into Ephesians now. Better than other topical studies for our group.

We've tried many study aids and have found that Wright's are better/deeper than most. He adds background information that is helpful with getting the most out of the scriptures. He goes slowly through Ephesians because there's so much in that letter that Christians need to know about living in the Spirit. We've read many of his books and recommend all his writings if you really want to get to know God and His master plan better.

We have a neighborhood bible study that meets every two weeks and we are all at varying levels of biblical understanding and knowledge. This study allows beginners as well as those much more knowledgeable to enjoy and be challenged by this book of the bible. It encourages every level to work out the meaning of the text and also to reach deeper for insights and understanding. Having said that, I must say that even the beginners are encouraged by the straightforward way the questions are posed and therefore no one is left feeling "lost in translation". I will look to other of this author's study guides when we finish this one.

Any of NT Wright's works are worth getting. This is a great, meaty study.

Our small group is using this Bible Study and we are really getting into meaningful discussions, with the focus on how to apply this to our life.

It in intended for group Bible study, but it can be helpful for individual study or as a help for a Bible study leader. It includes only brief, but helpful exposition. Very good discussion questions are its main value.JM

Not quite my thing but good enough. Perhaps a bit too general.

This did not live up to my expectations as coming from the pen of scholar Tom Wright. I found it to be, like so many other studies, lacking in substance. Ephesians is such a rich and deep epistle and it necessitated the use of other sources to support it and properly dig into the treasure of Paul's teaching.

I was expecting more of a commentary. Therefore I was a little sorry to see it was a workbook.
