Chinese, Celtic & Ornamental Knots for Beaded Jewellery

I've read through A LOT of knot books checked out from the library. Aside from Ashley's Book of Knots, this is the only one I bought. Chinese, Celtic and Decorative Knots, for me, has the best variety knots and ideas for using knots in jewelry. The knots also make good ornaments and accessories. I'm so glad Suzen Millodot put all three books in one volume. This would make a great book for a decorative knotter, and those who want to expand their jewelry making.

I have not tried a knot from this book yet, but look forward to it. The pictures are of outstanding quality. The book begins with the basics -- explains about different types of knotting material and which is better than the other for which project. Ex., 1 mm poly satin may be better for certain knotting, leather may be better for something else. It covers the tools, the must have, and the nice to have. This book shows how to finish your knot, and gives project ideas. It is easy to read and the pictures are large enough you don't need a magnifying glass to see what to do.

Fantastic book!!!! However, I wouldn't recommend for a novice. It would have been a little overwhelming for me when I was beginning to learn macrame. I ordered a 2nd book for a friend who wanted to try making macrame jewelry. She loves this book also and is hooked on macrame again. Can't wait to see what she makes..... You won't be disappointed with this incredible book.

It has great and easy to understand visual samples that illustrate some step by step processes. There are plenty of knots, i.e. there is a good variety to work from. The book is also easy to read. The font's not to small, nor do they give too much to read with too few pictures.

The diagrams make knots easy to produce. This book exceeded my expectations.

A friend of mine purchased this book from a craft store at almost twice the price. Colorful examples of how each knot is made. I was so impressed with this book, I have now ordered two of these. Highly recommended.

Absolutely the best book I have found on the subject. Beautiful photography and clear instructions on a wealth of knots and braids to include in your jewellery either with or without beads. Suitable for all levels - start the book as a beginner and finish it as an accomplished braider/knotter.

Excellent book. This is ideal for those who want to incorporate knotting into jewellery making as well as incorporating it into beadwork.It contains very clear instruction diagrams as well as step by step photographs for each design. Having referred to macrame books which would only give a few designs for bracelets this takes things to another level.
