Best luggage purchase I ever made
I used this last summer on a long Europe trip where we did planes trains and automobiles. 10 days. I forgot all about how much I loved this bag until my friend just told me he is in the market for a new carry-on. I know everyone is looking for something that fits their particular requirements, so I will say that for me, I loved: The backpack straps were substantial enough to not deform and were quite comfortable to take a half mike walk from the terminal to the train stop, the slip over your checkin worked fantastic. VERY stable and very easy to slip over the handle. All the zippers were big and robust. The organization of the two main pockets was very useful. Nothing ever got buried, it was all accessible. The extra pockets were just the right size and enough of them. The laptop pouch was perfect. Nice and protective (althoughI wish they put the access from the top and not the side in case I forgot to zip it up). It just really worked for me. One thing I dont like is that all the little sub-pouches that slip inside the main pouch did not come with the bag. I see after the purchase that you have to buy them separately. This is really a great travel bag for fitting a 4-7 days worth of clothes and misc. in a carry-on

Goes where rolling luggage can't!
This bag was perfect for a week in Belize. I purchased it because you can't take rolling luggage to San Pedro, Belize without ruining it on the dirt and sand streets. It was PERFECT. The dimensions are perfect for a Southwest carry-on, the inner compartments are perfect for a week's worth of summer clothes (if you roll, pack tight, and do a bit of laundry on your trip), and the backpack feature is an absolute winner. It's not a comfortable, hiking backpack, but for long walks between airports and pick-up spots in areas that aren't paved, it's perfect. I experienced NO quality issues- nothing ripped or fell apart on my first trip with it. Having said that, I was careful not to sling it around aggressively while it was fully loaded, either. I'm so glad I got this bag and will be using it on many other adventures.

Going back for another bag!
I bought this as a carry on for an 11 day trip to Scotland in 2019. I brought this bag and a Carry on size AWAY suitcase that I checked. I had more than enough clothes and supplies for my 11 days, and room to bring back purchases. This backpack can hold so many items. My husband then took it over and it became his go-to item to pack in. When we go hiking for a week in Colorado, this is the only thing he packs. I bought another one so we would both have one to ourselves. It does have a lot of pockets, so it's easy to forget where things were placed, but we have developed a system, where important things always go in the same pockets. The straps are adjustable so you can shift the weight around. The fabric is tough and the bag still looks great after 5 years and many many airports. We both travel with our laptops and this bag has a great space with easy access. The laptops are secure against your back, so I'm not worried about someone grabbing them, and getting them out for TSA is easy too. I can't say enough good things about this bag. I highly recommend.

Too big for me but good bag
First off, I am 5’3” 125lb female. The bag is just too big for me. I cannot adjust it close enough to my back. The weight of the contents pulled the bag away from my back. The waist strap was way too long. After shortening all the straps all the way on everything it was like lugging a sack of potatoes. But only because of my size. Other than that, the bag is great. If it fit me and I did not need to carry a sleeping bag, which I packed in this bag, I would take it as my luggage on a 3 week Africa trip. It’s plenty big for a seasoned traveler.Pros:Great material that feels like nylon and looks like suede.4 internal zipped up sections to keep stuff separated.Has packing areas on both halves of bag.3 outside pockets. It literally opens exactly like a suitcase.Outside backpack straps can be tucked completely away. Can backpack it or carry it two other ways.Large zippers that opened many times smoothly.Holes in zipper pulls for using travel locks.Second zipper around bag expands the bag another inch or two.Side straps can cinch the bag down tighter.Shoulder straps were substantial and nicely padded.Lightweight. I put a lot of stuff in it and it was about 17lbs.Cons:The waist strap is a mere piece of nylon. It could be more substantial in order to use it as intended, to relieve pressure on the shoulders and distribute weight. It does none of that.I really like the separate sections inside but think it could use those elastic straps on each half that kinda hold everything in place. Unless the bag is really full, it all settles to the bottom once on your shoulders and really pulls the bag backwards. It could use a simple internal frame to alleviate some of the flimsiness when backpacking. If you’re larger than me - If you can’t decide about this bag, buy it!

Storage, storage, and more storage
Took this on a long weekend to Toronto in order to avoid checked baggage fees and hassle, and it did not disappoint. A cavernous interior with numerous zippered compartments allowed for plenty changes of clothes while keeping other items well-organized.The bag’s light weight and ergonomic design meant I could carry it for hours on end in backpack mode for the brief time I was without a home base in my destination city. Some people might dismiss it as an all-purpose bag because of its lack of wheels. I’d rather save the weight and take the extra storage space. For what it’s worth, I’m 5’9 and 180 pounds, so your mileage/fatigue may vary. I’m sure I looked comically ungainly with that huge rectangle perched on my back. But the weight distribution felt good enough that I didn’t even need the stabilizing straps for one’s chest and waist (but nice to know they’re available).I also appreciated the several rear pockets for quick access to books, earphones, phone/camera, etc.Materials and zippers appear to be high quality; I purchased the bag in July 2018, and will update this review in the future if durability becomes an issue.Overall: If it fits you, this is a superbly functional, efficient, and good-looking travel bag. Glad I bought it!

I have lived out of this bag for 20 months in 8 countries
Fantastic value for money. I have been travelling with this backpack ( my home ) since August 2019, it is now April 2021. I have slept in 56 different beds, at 40 cities/towns, so I have packed and unpacked this bag 40 times. I love all the features. I can not find fault with this bag. I had to have it exported from the US as I lived in the UK at the time. Only one airline did this backpack not meet the carry on specifications ( Aegean or Cyprus airways)The outside zips are very strong ( metal) , that said I don't put pressure on them when closing the inner section, as those zips are plastic. I always hold the zip runners together. When the bag is fully packed and you use the compression straps, you will find you will struggle to access the water bottle holder, and the two narrow pockets, so I didn't put much into these two pockets.I had to use the water bottle holder on my day bag to carry my water bottle. Be sure to close the zip fully on the laptop compartment, you can find it start to work itself loose, though it's never come close to falling out, but could make a tempting target for opportunists. I often have to put my laptop in my day bag, as some airlines have a maximum weight of 10kg with Carry on luggage.I find this backpack very comfortable to walk with. I have walked for an hour through the streets of Rome on my way to an Air B n B. I don't use the straps that go around your waist, perhaps I should, though they very narrow with no padding, I am not sure what they would be like. I have them tucked in one of the narrow pockets. So far I can report no wear or tear, no damage.I also like that you can detach the straps and tuck them away to fit the metal holder when you have to prove to the assistants at the gate your bag meets the specifications, then you just carry it using the side handle. At no point as my bag been exposed to the rain.I use two locks, one for the main compartment, and one where my important documents are kept. I haven't thought of a way to lock the laptop compartment, though the pocket is tucked away out of sightIn Summary, an excellent well thought out design. Very sturdy, Quality materials for an incredible low price

I hoped this was the bag of bags. Sadly, it may be a bag in the bin.
ProsGreat designEfficient use of spaceNice compartmentsCarry on sizeConsUncomfortable to wear - straps not well paddedCheap material - stitching already tearingLow value for moneyI may need to return this due to stitching coming undone. If better material and workmanship were utilised, it could've been the best carry on bag on the market.

A+. Would buy again
I used this to travel through several countries. I added a piece of cardboard in the base for stability but aside from that i did not use my typical packing cubes. The zippered compartments meant i didn't need the packing cubes which was great for saving weight. I did not have any issues with the zippers, no tears. I carried it packed for several hours at a time and it was tolerable and I was able to stabilize with the belts across the straps. I only used it as a carry on and had no issues with it being accepted by any of the 5 flights i took it on.Update: about a year later, and many flights and no issues. This bag is actually great. It’s so easy to get around compared to the ones with the wheels. I usually have a small backpack on my front and wear this with no issues on my back. I have stayed around the max allowed carryon weight and it’s still manageable to carry and padding is good. Loops on the straps are good for clip on water bottle. Way better than a backpacking backpack too because of how the compartments are set up. I previously have used a standard carry on, and also a 45L bag from MEC in Canada. I will use this bag until it dies and will probably rebuy if it’s still available years from now. This bag has been to Alberta, bc, France, Italy, Ukraine, Amsterdam, and Egypt so far with no signs of wear yet. I still have the cardboard piece in the bottom for support at the base, only in the bigger section. I quit my packing cubes and these sections are great. If you’re looking for an easy to get around carry-on (or a huge backpack), I would definitely recommend this bag. One of the best amazon travel purchases I have made.If this review was helpful, give me a thumbs up!

Must have for short getaways :-)
I really love the functionality of this backpack. So many pockets, best bag for short getaways. It perfectly fits the aircraft overhead bins and even under the seat, and has a very sturdy handles. I will be retuning this bag for an exchange (same model, size, color, and better quality) because the zipper inside is not closing properly after using for a week vacation. I have to open and close the zipper repeatitively before it close properly. It also gave my husband an inconvenience when it was opened by an airport officer after it was scanned. But overall, this is a must have backpack for carry ons. I just hope that they improve the quality (both of the inside zippers and inside materials) to be worth the price.
