The PetTec Spray is absolutely harmless for dogs and owners, environmentally friendly and non-flammable. Additional beep In addition to the spray, you can communicate with the dog via sound signal. You can easily select a long or short tone signal on the remote control. Weatherproof (IP65) No matter whether it's rain, stormy drinking or digging in the garden - you can relax. Brilliant product - if used correctly!
Having used a similar product many years ago to (successfully) deter our golden retriever from eating dead fish (and possibly a fish hook!) on our beach I've just bought this one for our 18 month old "spirited" cockapoo. She, like all dogs, knows full well that she can do absolutely anything provided she is off lead and out of arms reach. She will come back very enthusiastically when she has finished eating or rolling in whatever ghastly substance she has found. Clearly I cannot chastise her then because she won't understand why she's in trouble and I don't want to do anything to deter her recall. However, she has no idea that the spray from the collar has anything at all to do with me. I neither tell her to "leave it" nor praise her for coming away. I simply zap her immediately she starts eating/rolling. Having been "zapped" she looks at me with incredulity to explain why previously benign and very tasty sheep poo has suddenly started spraying her and I just look suitably blank! In just half an hour and four zaps she started not only not eating it but giving it a wide berth. There are many other "crimes" that could be prevented in the same way - digging holes in the lawn and rolling in the compost heap, and jumping up at the work surface, for example. My only gripe is that I was amazed there is no ring/hock/loop on the handset to attach it to a cord round the neck. It needs to be very handy but not get lost and hanging it on your chest is the obvious place for it. I'll attach a cable tie but an integral ring would be better.

Not reliable
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I have a 2 year old Villa who loves to chase wildlife and have tried many ways to try and train her not to go after squirrels & deer. This method (different make of similar product) was recommended to me. It’s quite bulky but that didn’t deter me. There are 4 buttons on the remote, 2 levels of an audio beep and two levels of spray shot. The problem is that the build quality is just not good enough to make this a reliable product. It could be improved by making the remote attachable to a key ring, or carabiner as having to hold it in your hand, run after your dog and try not to press any buttons accidentally is quite difficult. As you can see from the video even at point blank range, practically brand new, out of the box, the beeps/sprays are hit and miss so you have no idea in the field at the very moment you need it, if it’s doing anything or not. I have returned this product and will try to purchase a better quality one, hopefully for not too much more money as I think £75 is more than enough for what it is.

pretty useless and frustrating
Where to start. The battery connector has no spring so most of the time the battery is not connected’ so you think the thing is having no effect, but in fact it’s not working. Putting some tin foil to complete the circuit makes it work but of course that becomes loose. Next the plastic cover falls off easily so has to be held on with tape. at a distance you don’t know what’s working and what isn’t. If the dog shakes that’s the end of it. A super frustrating device that does more harm than good. This is certainly not the cheapest of these devices, yet surely must be the most useless, let down by the simplest yet fundamental of problems.

Excellent results
I have been using the PetTec remote spray trainer now for a week and the results have been outstanding. I bought this product to help control my dogs excessive barking and over excitement to everything. The set up was simple and we started using it straight away a quick spray under his noise soon stopped him barking. It hasn't caused him any stress and he doesn't mind wearing the collar. I would recommend this product to anyone needing a little extra help with controlling a dog who loves the sound of his own voice. :)

Don't work.
Would not recommend these collars. They chew through batteries like there's no tomorrow, and rarely work when you need them to. I am not sure if the on/off switches are not very sensitive, or if the connection between the remote and the collar is bad, but the majority of the time when you press the button on the remote nothing happens on the collar. The red light shows on the remote so it is definitely working, but it doesn't seem able to 'speak' to the collar even when they are side by side with brand new batteries in. Sadly, a complete waste of time.

Battery on collar part loose and detaches very easily
Thought this would be a better more substantial product given cost. Was great initially when used around house, however at the first use outside on walk collar became very loose and battery housing cover came off and battery dropped out whilst he was running around in long grass !!!!!!! (Looking for a needle in a haystack) rendering it unusable. Had to return it. Refunded immediately though 👍

Don't overuse it!
I have found the sound signals to be not really load enough to get a real reaction from my dog. The spray however is most effective and stop her in her tracks as she makes a break for chasing a bike etc on cycle path, which was what I wanted it for. Also, though the sound is not very loud it is useful when reminding her not to pull on the lead, as she is only 11 months but 33Kg not pulling is very important.

faulty and no good for boisterous dogs
the battery compartment would not hold battery in so had to do some tweaking to get it to stay in, this device kept my 1yr old lab/retriever out of water but had absolutely no effect on him when he runs off after other dogs, would'nt recommend
