Norton Anthology of Modern Poetry

So very many poems. bought it because i needed it for a class but ended up reading it for fun anyways. has a great selection of poets over a long range of time. many different styles of poetry as well. very good stuff indeed. lets all get to reading folks!

Arrived quickly, in better shape than I expected for the price!

The Norton Anthology of Modern Poetry is a wonderful addition to my library. It was in really great shape for a used book and an older edition. The book in its newer updated form is used in higher education. It will be a valuable asset.

A well-edited survey of recent English and American poetry, over 1400 pages long. "Modern" here does not really mean up-to-date, since this volume was published in 1973, but it does well covering the first two-thirds of the Twentieth Century. Used copies are available quite cheaply. I recommend it highly.

This is a great anthology of modern poetry, in the sense that it is absolutely massive (almost 2,000 pages!), and includes well over a hundred poets with a biography and good selection of poems from each one. It made me realize that I don't like modern poetry very much, but on the other hand it feels good to know I will never need to buy another book of modern poetry again.

Product is used when there was no indication it would be. Has a big dumb sticker stuck to the front and it's dirty.

The book itself is a very good anthology and the pages/cover are in good shape. But there is WAY more writing in the book than I expected.

This book is great because it includes writers who were sort of precursors to the Modern poetry movement, rather than actually being part of the movement itself. I liked that characteristic of their choice, but some people might find it a little too inclusive.

I love these volumes of poetry, Norton Anthology's are one of the best. Everyone who's just about everyone in the world of poetry exists here from yesteryear to today's more contemporary works. Very detailed and a joy just to lift whenever you feel and pick a few at random, delightful, inspiring and pleasing to the soul. Enjoy!
