I would give this phone 2.5 star if I could since it's a descent looking case but it doesn't have any of the functionality that it advertises. It's simply an imitation of the Samsung S-View look but not functionality but then again it doesn't come with a steep price tag either.The case is shiny tinted clear plastic in the front and hard plastic in the back. It isn't anything like the true S-View Flip Cover. It doesn't need any special app to make it functional because .. really .. it doesn't have any! It's simply a flip cover with clear tinted front that looks nice but that's it. The case quality is descent but nothing premium about it. In this iteration, PU leather is just another name for plastic.As I mentioned, unlike the real thing, the screen doesn't turn on or off when you open or close the cover. You can't answer the call by just swiping the front cover. These are all the functionality that you would expect in a smart case but it's not here. All in all, it's simply a good looking flip case that you can also use as a stand.My reason for giving it the three stars is because of the false advertising. Don't advertise this as a smart case when it isn't. This is just wrong!

Overall review: Cheap product, good for looks only. According to me, not worth the cost.Pros:Feels good. Looks good.Cons:The backplate prevents finger from covering whole fingerprint scanner. Thus it is very very difficult to use one hand to unlock phone using fingerprint. I have to hold phone with one hand and squeeze my finger hard against the cover to get finger to cover the scanner. You have to open flip cover and free phone cover from backplate to get to fingerprint scanner. In other words, cannot use fingerprint scanner as I could on original Samsung SView cover.My son was holding his laptop in his hands and the phone was on the laptop. I would guess less than 4 feet from ground. Phone slipped and fell. The cover cracked (see photo). I dropped my phone with original Samsung cover numerous times in last 3 years with no damage to minimal damage of scruff marks on cover. This cover cracked on first fall.The magnet to hold phone cover to backplate is useless at best. If you hold the flip part of cover, phone cover will fly open i guess due to weight of phone and weak magnet.Issues disclosed by seller in product description:Does not support touch functionality.Does not support Samunsg's built in auto-sleep when closed.

Update: after using this case for about a month, I'm not very happy with it. Another flaw: the magnet that is on the inside of the back flap has come unglued. The glue strip (I'll call it) is very cheap and it doesn't cover the whole back of the magnet, which results in the magnet sticking to the magnet on the back of the case that holds the phone. Although more expensive, I should have opted for the Samsung version of this case.It doesn't stay closed, which is the biggest downside. It definitely attracts fingerprints galore. When you use it to prop the phone up, the phone often slides. There should be some kind of notches to help prop the phone, or the corners of the part that holds the phone should have material that keeps it from sliding. When the phone is propped up, the volume buttons are inaccessible. All ports are accessible, though.

At first glance I thought I received a used case, it looked scratched and had fingerprints on it. But after taking off the protective film, it appeared I was wrong, just 1 small scratch in the side, I could deal with this. I've had this same style case for 10yrs now and just know that you need to replace it every so often if you want a scratch free case. So, I put it on, and quickly shut it to make sure it works, and realized it doesnt lock my phone anymore. No biggie, another 'deal with this'. Then.... I go to unlock with my fingerprint, and it doesnt work. Its sized too small and it took a half dozen tries to smash my finger hard enough to unlock it. Cant do 1-handed, which is 99.9% of my needs. If I hadn't already disposed of my old case yesterday, I would be returning this immediately. I will be looking for another VERY soon

This case is garbage. Get what you pay for.It is advertised as a smart case, it is not. It does not turn the screen on and off like the original Samsung case.You have to download an app to make the case work. Which all it does is trick your phone into detecting a cover is on. Which also means when you put the phone up to your head to talk it shuts the phone off.Also the cheap plastic cover on the front broke on the second day. I had the original Samsung case for 3 years with no problems. This thing was junk from day one.

Magnet isn't strong enough to hold the back of the case shut so it doesn't fling your phone free. It partially blocks the finger print sensor so you can't use it. And despite what its ad shows about it displaying the clock through the cover... Its missing the dot that would be in the front cover to trigger that function

Great cover and protects the phone very well, but the software that makes the time and date work is some unknown developers software that really messed up my phone once I installed it. The phones display would blink irradically and go black and back on then kept going on and off repeatedly. I immediately uninstalled it. You have to turn your phone on or off to use with this cover just to wake up your phone. I will not buy this again.
