Narrowed choices to 2 brands about a dozen yrs ago - purchased Cuisinart 7 cup Pro Classic. Perfect for the 2 of us!! Easily whips up wkly batches of hummus, makes quick work of "kneading" pizza dough, mixes up gluten free cookie dough for my m-in-law. Literally gallons of salsa verde every yr for the freezer. Soups are easy peasy: winter squash, sweet potato/ miso, tomato, home made "V-8." Rinse bowl/ lid immed. after ea. use, I don't find it difficult to clean? Read it was discontinued (why??) decided to get another though ours is still running like a champ. Accrued all the blades I want over time (eBay is a good source - excellent condition used blades for less than $12 ea.) Would hate to start over w. a new processor, buy all new extra blades (Yikes... $$$) ONLY negative is that it was sent w/o ANY protective packing, just sliding around inside a larger box. Seriously, Amazon??? But if you're looking for a reliable, smaller food processor, an excellent machine, IMHO. Grates cheese, zucchini, apples, yellow potatoes, slices sweet potatoes & beets for dehydrated chips (and they're solid veggies) No issues what-so-ever, beautiful, consistent results and clean up is a breeze. (Also, for those who've asked, my previous/ older blades seem to fit the new stem, lock into place easily, solidly) I wouldn't want to be w/o this appliance and have been genuinely pleased w. it's durability.

This is a true Cuisinart, unlike the flimsy machines they are putting the name on these days. Powerful and super well-made, if the size is good for you, you will not be disappointed by the DLC 10. I believe this is "new old stock," meaning it is a new machine but they no longer make it and are clearing out the warehouse. It was replaced by the FP-8 series, which doesn't hold a candle to the DLC-10. I bought the FP-8 not knowing that the DLC was still available. The FP is not powerful and quite flimsy. The bowl broke when I dropped it, which would never happen with the DLC. A replacement bowl for the FP was nearly the price of a new unit, which annoyed me enough that I decided to shop around. I was stoked to find the DLC-10 at a very reasonable price. We have a 25 year old DLC-14 at our second home, and it still works like brand new. The DLC-10 is of that quality. Just be aware that the 7 cup work bowl is quite a bit smaller than what most people think of an old-school Cuisinart to be. It is fine for most chopping/blending for a family of 4, but is probably too small to make a full-sized bread dough.

The work bowl of my 18 year old Pro Classic finally cracked. My old one did not sit on a shelf and collect dust. I used it at least once a week. I’ve made countless batches of salsa, biscuit and bread dough, date balls, mayonnaise, puréed veggies and ground meat and nuts in this. I rarely hand washed it. It mostly went into the dishwasher on the top rack. After 18 years of this abuse the bottom of the work bowl finally cracked. It’s not leaking. Just cracked. I looked for a replacement work bowl and feed tube. But at $60 for both I decided another $40 for a brand new Pro Classic was well worth the extra money. I did plenty of research on the newer Cuisinart models and offerings from other manufacturers. What I found was a bunch of fluff and extras I just don’t need. Pulse and On with a blade style switch is perfect. I don’t need push buttons. Or a bunch of different settings. Or a small work bowl inside a larger bowl? Hell, for me at least, On is mostly unneeded. Just pulse, a torquey motor and a couple blades. The chopping, slicing and shredding blades that came with the original have been all I have needed. They have stayed incredibly sharp for all these years. The new Pro Classic model seems to have the same exact motor as my 18 year old Pro Classic so I am hoping for the same longevity. My only complaint about the new model is the feed tube is a little harder to clean. There are more nooks and crannies for food to get trapped. But a bottle brush seems to work nice to get to the hard to reach areas. If you want a great food processor for home use this is a great choice. You can spend two to four times more money and I’m sure get a great food processor. But you will probably not use most of the “features” for which you are paying extra.

EXCELLENT food processor! We had the identical unit that we used heavily for 30+ years, but part of the locking mechanism broke off. We were very excited to find the identical unit, and purchased it right away. We are very heavy users of our Cuisinart - mixing bread dough, making cheesecake, grating cheese, slicing or shredding vegetables, etc. We really require a workhorse tool, and this Cuisinart absolutely holds up.

I’ve been using my 7-Cup Pro Classic regularly—at least three dozen times since purchasing it in late February 2025—and it continues to meet my food processing needs. I prepare whole week meals for 1-2 people, and bake 2-3 times per week. The wattage, work bowl size, and functions are well-suited for my kitchen, a galley-style space in a 600 sq. ft. NYC apartment. It’s reliable, easy to clean, holds power when fully loaded, and is intuitive to operate. Based on performance, I’m giving it four stars. Why Four Stars? A few limitations keep it from being perfect: 1. Dishwasher Concerns – I hand wash the work bowl and lid because many reviews report heat warping in the dishwasher. While I don’t mind handwashing, this could be a drawback for frequent users. I will not be dishwashing any components aside from the stainless blade. 2. Durability of Plastic – This is my first personal food processor, but I grew up using a 14-Cup Professional Classic. The older model’s work bowl felt thicker and more durable (on the order of 1 to 2 millimeters thicker), while the 7-Cup Classic’s plastic seems more brittle and prone to cracking. I handle it carefully, but I have prepared myself for the bowl and/or lid to crack from normal use, and well before the motor gives out. Extending bowl thickness, as well as introducing a metal mechanism for the base safety lock, could significantly improve parts longevity. Conclusion Despite these minor issues, I strongly recommend the 7-Cup Pro Classic. I chose it over the KitchenAid 7- and 9-Cup processors (reported quality and lid/bowl locking design issues) and the Cuisinart Core Custom 10-Cup (concerns over its plastic clutch/drive system and noise). This model strikes a great balance of performance and size, making it a solid choice.

So far this food processor has worked well. The small bowl is great and it can be set up nicely to make smoothies and hummus. I have made some really good hummus in it to date. Cleans pretty easily too. Seems solid and it's been great for the first 3 months we have had it.

This is a powerful and well made device. I used it to make pesto from fresh basil and pine nuts which turned out great. There is a heavy duty quality to this machine and it felt well balanced. More power than I needed for the pesto but good to know that I now have a device that can handle much more.

My discs disappeared during a move and this is replacement . This is a fabulous machine and does everything I want. Wish it were less heavy to move and ideally should have permanent home on a counter.

Me gusto mucho el procesador, la base es bastante pesada para mover facilmente, supongo que es para estabilidad del aparato, funciona bien, aunque hay que usarla no tan llena, porque luego quedan algunos trozos grande, yo los aparto y los proceso despues aparte para evitar sobreprocesar todo lo demás. Los rayadores aun no los he usado porque tengo otro procesador para eso, aunque me hubiera gustado que tuviera una pieza para almacenar los discos y toda esa parte de los rayadores cuando no se usan, sin embargo son piezas que se venden por separado y a un precio no tan economico. En si el aparato tiene buena pinta, fácil de usar y lavar, y hasta el momento no he tenido problemas, he picado carne, zanahorias, betabel (que son duros), entre otras cosas y todo ha funcionado bien.

I bought this food processor to replace one I already had. The one I had previously was exactly the same model and size. I have had three food processors in the last 35 years or so....the first one was a RoboCoupe and that company was bought out by Cuisinart. The last two were Cuisinart...the original one lasted 25 years and needed to be replaced because the bowl cracked. The second one, the Cuisinart one, lasted 11 years and the motor and everything was great, but the bowl cracked. I cook a lot and use the appliance numerous times in a week. It can handle a lot due to the larger motor, has a small footprint for easy storage, and is easy to clean. I like the bowl size of this machine, the size of the motor, and the construction of the machine. There are some cheaper models from Cuisinart that are made entirely of plastic and have very small motors. Buyer beware. I find the bowl capacity good for what I use it for, but I don’t use it for making bread as I have a KitchenAid mixer and due to the issue with the bowl I will not be grating cheese with it or using it for anything that creates quick torque on the bowl. I called to replace the bowl when it cracked, but the suggestion was to replace the bowl and the lids which would have cost almost a hundred dollars. Even though there are a few minor issues, I feel it is a great machine.

Basic and functional food processor--surprisingly quiet (so much quieter than my previous Braun!!!) and very sharp blades for efficient slicing/chopping. 7 cup capacity is large enough to knead bread (3 cups of dough). While the plunger assembly is more cumbersome than necessary, I love the alternative low cover that only has a small central port for adding ingredients. It's terrific for when you are just chopping, kneading dough or making mayo... ie most of the time. My last processor had the option of running the machine at lower speeds, which this one doesn't have, but it isn't an option I miss.

I bought this model second hand 20 years ago and it was a great food processor. I decided to buy a larger one a few years ago, a different brand, and gave my old one away. I quickly regretted that decision. I eventually got rid of the newer one as it wasn't able to process as well and would get jammed. I ordered this recently and I am pleased that it's as good quality as the old one. The nice upgrade is that there are two lids, one to use with the attachments, and one less complicated lid that is easier to clean.
