We have all bought furniture items that come in a thousand pieces, marginal quality material and hardware at best. For starters, this item is exactly as pictured. I don't understand how this is frequently returned, WHAT IS IN THE PICTURE, IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU GET...and that is a good thing. The craftsmanship and finish of the wood pieces is excellent and thanks to the mortise and tenon construction, there is little hardware needed to put this together. The assembled bed is as solid of a bed as you will find. Since I ordered an all memory foam mattress for this frame (Ashley Signature, another 100% recommendation BTW) I ordered a bunkie board to act as a foundation to go on top of the slats, but thanks to such a small 1.25 inch gap between the slats, no additional support is needed. Normally I expect mail order, assembly required, furniture to have a fairly short life span, this piece will last as long as you need it to and then some. 100% recommend buy.

Assembly took me approximately 30 minutes. Two tips would be to have a rubber mallet and an Allen head for a drill. The level of craftsmanship was amazing and thoroughly impressed. I would not hesitate to purchase again. In fact, I’m thinking about replacing another bed with this bed frame. Another thing I love about the frame is that the Center legs are set back so you don’t whack it with your feet. Five stars all the way.
