Love this rower...
Easy installation, performance is smooth, and I would buy again in a heart beat. I am a larger male, 6'2" 245lbs and the seat fits like it should. Resistance is decent but not overly strong like you would see on high end rowers. All in all I couldn't be happier with the product. I have been using this one for several weeks and no problems. Just a side note: I have the Proform treadmill as well. Love it too. No its not your high end exercise equipment like you get a gym but neither is the price. Make sure you always shoot for middle grade to high end grade on companies like Proform and you should be happy with what you get.

Buy the Extended Warranty
I know there are a lot of negative reviews of this rower but I didn't have any problems with the packaging or with the rower itself. However, be aware that there are many pieces to put together and you have to be very careful with alignment. This is basically a giant bungee cord and if it's not aligned properly it probably will uncoil. I'm very careful when using it to make sure that I keep the cord centered. This rower only has a 3 month warranty and because of the negative reviews I bought the extended warranty. I have a ProForm treadmill as well. The ProForm products are a good value but you're not going to get the top of the line in exercise equipment with the ProForms - you get what you pay for. If you're not rough with the ProForms they will last but they are not what you'd find in a gym. For me however they are good enough and a good value. I rated this 4 stars because I do get a good workout with it and so far (only after one month) it's working great.

Great deal but broke twice and ended up in the trash.
Great price. Good quality. Update==== Didn't stay working for very long, I bought this for $79 on Amazon so I don't feel too bad. This rower has some design flaws and I would stay clear of this rower. Customer service took almost a month to get hold of after the bungee cord broke. Replaced the bungee and it broke after light use.

Cost saving alternative
I purchased this product on a lightning deal. I've owned it for about two months now and it has been great. It was easy to put together, the seat glides great, and it folds up to use little room. The display is basic but I use it mainly for distance when doing intervals and it works great for that. The seat is also a little awkward and you could find yourself sliding off of it during more intense workouts. All in all, a think this is a great alternative to the much more expensive concept 2 rowers if you want to save some money. It also is much higher quality then the cheapy rowers out there. Watch for it to go on sale as I noticed the price fluctuates quite a bit.

Don't let the price lure you in...
I bought this rowing machine because it seemed to be a good entry level machine at a lower price point. I figured that I would try it out and see if I like rowing in general before spending more on a better machine. Turns out that I do like rowing and will absolutely upgrade to a better machine very soon. But with that said, I cannot recommend this machine to anyone due to the general lack of quality. When things break, you are going to have to deal with it and from my experience here, things absolutely will break. -Rowing cord/rope: totally frayed just below the bar after moderate use- way too soon for that to happen. I'm not sure how I am going to "fix" this -Monitor: ProFrom has opted to supply electronics that are likely produced for about 10 cents in a Chinese factory. The first time I went to change the battery the entire assembly fell apart and two of the wires popped off of the board. I'm handy so i will probably be able to figure out how to get it working again, but that will only be so that I can sell the machine. Wal-Mart is selling these for $199.99 now. What does that tell you? Cheap Chinese garbage. Spend more on something better, you'll never regret it.

Okay
I ordered this with Amazon Prime's 2 day shipping, but it took 5 days to get to me. Amazon customer service was helpful, as usual, and tracked it down for me. The seat arrived with a 1.5" slash in it, but I had already started putting the rower together by the time I pulled that piece out of the plastic, and decided it wasn't worth the hassle of returning something so big. The assembly directions are easy enough and I'm thankful for the note at the end mentioning that there may be extra pieces (panicked for a second), but some of the steps required placing things EXACTLY aligned in order to make things fit. A couple tips: put the batteries in the monitor first thing -- and it helps to have an eyeglass repair kit handy because the casing has a super tiny screw. The rear stabilizer cover was a pain to get on, it was a tiny bit easier when the rail was lowered. Have a wrench handy because the tool they supply for that purpose is useless. I was pretty tired after assembly, so only tried it for a few minutes. It's okay. It'll work fine for me, but I'd be worried if I were looking to do a more intense cardio workout, it's a bit shaky. The resistance gear works well. I find the angle of the foot rests kind of awkward when leaning against the pedal stop. The rower is a somewhat bigger and heavier than expected, but still fairly compact. Much quieter than I thought it would be. Overall, it'll work for me, but I wish it had cost less for what I got.

Decent rowing machine for a good price
decent rowing machine for a good price. It does not have really any of the bells and whistles of the cooler higher end ones, but it also doesn't come with the big price tag. The assembly of the unit was pretty strait forward and easy following the instructions. This is my first time owning a rower and after 20 minutes on it I was exhausted. The machine preforms well and is not really noisy at all. I am happy with this machine and do not regret purchasing it.

but works fine for the occasional user
Been looking for a rower for a long time. This one came up on a lightening deal for cheaper than any I had seen used on Craigslist. It's not a top of the line, but works fine for the occasional user. Directions were clear making it truly easy to assemble.
