Awesome watch!!!! 5 stars.
This watch is awesome!! Well worth the money! Tough, blacked out, and solar. No need to replace the battery every 2 years losing the water-seal. This watch is from Japan, and came in a cool box with a small pillow. The watch has a soft rubber band, its feels very smooth and comfortable, unlike those HORRIBLE RESIN and SILICON bands. Today was 92 and I didn't even notice the band. Even though its blacked out, it is easy to read the time and has a light for darkness. Some people have whined about the display, that's why they have pictures on Amazon before you buy it. I had the DW5600MS-1CR but returned it when Casio said the battery only last 2 years. Then when its replaced you might lose the seal. For $50 more I got this incredible watch. I am still amazed how comfortable the rubber band is, I don't understand why they use resin bands, they are very uncomfortable in the heat, and when its cold they stiffen up.The buttons on this watch are very easy to use and your fingers wont go numb from setting the watch. The blacked out face looks great, its one bad a$$ watch. It came with a high charge and I put it in direct sunlight for 20 minutes to keep it highly charged. I looked at Seiko solar and Citizen Eco Drive, but I know they cant handle being under water, and you have to be careful not to crack the watch face. For $141 it is well worth the price. It also has a great size, and a perfect fit. The display size is very easy to read, and simple to set, you don't need a degree from MIT to figure out the watch. This watch deserves 6 stars and the seller is great as well. If you are going to spend $100 on a Gshock, spend the extra money and get this watch, you wont regret it.

The best G-Shock watch!
Ive always wanted a G-Shock, but without the crazy bulk. For some reason really large watch faces always bothered me and I can't wear them for more than an hour. This watch has all the benefits of the G-Shock branding, in a more reasonable size! Some people don't like the negative display, and it's a legit complaint. At times it can be hard to read the face of the watch, but more times than not I have no issue. It's also pretty sweet looking as it's my first of it's kind ive owned. An awesome feature with this model is that it charges via solar AND it updates its time via a radio signal it picks up around midnight! In case I somehow find myself lost in the wilderness, I know this will stand up against whatever is thrown at it!Buy the watch is what I'm trying to say.

Best Watch Ever!
I purchased this watch close to 7 years ago. I wear it every single day. I love the all black look. It's waterproof and bomb proof. It's very durable. After 7 years of hard use the strap broke. I purchased new strap and I'm going to keep wearing this another 7 more years. It's a great value for money.

Slick looking tactical version of the classic.
Not gonna lie, the face isn’t easy for me to read, but I love the way it looks. Once you adjust to the gray on black it gets easier, and some angles are very clear depending on the lighting. And there’s a backlight for help at night. But that’s not why I bought this watch, I bought it for the style, which is classic yet modern, and the solar power and radio atomic clock. Comfortable (almost as comfortable as my weekender with nato strap) and just looks cool on the wrist. I apparently have big wrists, but this still fits fine. I do like this version better than the classic with the red frame and standard gray face. Kind of takes it to a new place. And If I really need to know the time, it’s not that hard to see, just takes a little longer sometimes. 🤣

A great EDC / apocalypse watch … if you have good eyes.
If your only concern is legibility of the negative display, skip to the bottom half. Otherwise, read on.For me, three considerations stand out as the most important for a timepiece, aside from looks (subjective) and durability (a given for G-Shocks).ACCURACYWhat good is a watch if it doesn’t tell accurate time? Digital watches already have significant advantage over analogue, but this one goes one step further by connecting to atomic time (which syncs with one of six signal towers across the globe). For the first time I didn’t have to bother with manually setting the minute, hour, or even date out of the box. Just choose your time zone, toggle daylight savings if applicable, and you’re all set knowing your time actually cannot be more accurate. The downside? ‘Sorry didn’t realize my watch time was behind’ is no longer a valid excuse for being late. Yup. Used that one before.COMFORTAnd what good is a watch if you constantly want to take it off? On that note, the durable Polyurethane strap is surprisingly soft, comfortable, and easy to wear. The watch itself is also light and small enough for me to forget I’m wearing it sometimes. This bodes well for sports / workouts, and I ain’t taking this one off before a fistfight. Bring it bruv.USABILITYNow about that negative display: Probably the biggest compromise for choosing this particular model, yet also the most visually pleasing element if an all-black look is what you really want. Otherwise you’d have gone straight for the model that functions exactly the same yet costs nearly half price no? So the $150 question: Is the compromise in legibility worth it? With decent eyesight, yes. In sunlight or a well-lit room there’s absolutely no problem, save for a little glare at certain angles. But in limited light, it’s harder to make out the contents of the watch at a glance without straining your eyes, and the aforementioned glare becomes a bigger issue. Thankfully it features an auto-illumination function that lights up when you tilt the watch from flat to a 40-45 degree angle towards you, and it works remarkably consistently (more than 9/10 times). The only issue is the duration of the illumination, lasting barely a second. This is true even if you hold the illumination button down. A full 2 seconds would have been nice. It is worth noting that illumination also stops the moment you press any other button. The only conceivable problem that poses is if you need to use the stopwatch function in near or complete darkness (not impossible, just a major hassle), but I cannot imagine ever needing to do that, other than attempting to time the duration of the illumination function for the purpose of this review, which was a royal pain. Other than the negative display, the only other usability issue would be the tiny buttons that would pose a challenge if you intend to use it while wearing gloves. To summarize, who is this watch not for?Anyone with poor eyesight such as some older users, anyone who needs full visibility and access to functions despite limited light, and anyone who intends to fiddle with its various functions while wearing gloves (winter sports?)But if like me, you’re younger / have decent eyesight, really really want the all-black tactical look, and don’t mind paying an extra $70 for it, this watch should survive an apocalypse in style. It’s durable, comfortable, accurate, freakin handsome, and won’t run out of power as long as you give its some sunlight once or twice a week. Just pray we don’t ever face a nuclear winter Inshallah.

Great product
Great watch! I will have this for years. I researched watches for awhile before buying this one and it’s been great. It’s simple enough but have all the features I want. Would buy again!
