Good note by seller
The book is gorgeous, the publisher has made great choice about the paper used and the size, to stunning effect! The seller got the book to us ahead of promised time and had a clear note about the book, including the copy number of 2000 published. Thank you.

Beautiful and unique.
This has got to be one of the most unique and unusual books I have ever owned. It brings together two of my favorite things: art and trees. Each page of art in this book is hand silk screened on heavy black paper. Once the pages are silk screened, they are bound together in a very appealing binding. The prints depict trees from India, along with a bit of the history and folk lore associated with each particular tree. This book is a numbered edition of only 2,000 copies. You can see how it was created by going to You Tube and typing in "tara books". Definitely a small scale, local operation. The artists are amazing. And the price is very inexpensive for a book of hand printed silk screened prints.

Exquisite to behold
This book is a pleasure to read, touch and see. The art is exquisite line work in bright colors on black handmade paper. The ink has a presence. The narrative is poetic and tells tales that blur the borders between trees, humans, and creatures. It's beautiful enough to defy description. It's as much a work of art as it is a compelling book. Trees Live Because They Are Breathtaking
This handmade book of individually hand-screened pages of art is exquisite. I don't know how they can do it for the price. The short tales of each of the trees are intriguing and divulge the little known secrets of very lively nocturnal trunks and branches. We find that we're not the only ones hanging by a limb. A gem of a book that leaves one breathless.

A Limited Edition Piece of Art
The Gond tribe of central India believe that our lives are inextricably linked with that of trees. This handcrafted masterpiece tells their stories with exquisite artwork and haunting prose. I am so glad I own a copy.

Such a beauty.
This book's art work it incredible. I often contemplate the idea of turning some of it into wall art but I can't bring myself to take a page away from the book. I would love to buy an extra one just for that purpose. If you are into artistic books, this is worth adding to yours and your kids collection.

Pure delight
my new favourite thing in the world - this book is a treasure - a delight to hold, touch and be immersed in - be captivated by its stunning use of colour, gorgeous illustrations and poignant tales. I only bought this book because I read a review on Amazon - it was beyond my expectations. I show this book to all my close friends.

Exquisite. . .
This is no ordinary book but rather, 18 artworks, screenprinted by 3 of India's finest contemporary artists and each one accompanied by a short tale or an anecdote. Each of the artists belongs to the Gond tribe of Central India, a tribe well-known within India for two things : its love of storytelling and its love for, and devotion to, trees. Each of the artworks depicts an Indian tree, dramatic against a totally black background, and is executed in the traditional Gond style, a style which is in many ways very simple but which seems to glow. As a non-artist, I can't say quite how this effect has been achieved. Gonds believe that trees have spirits, that they are, in many cases, deities. And this is where the storytelling comes in : trees do not just provide shade and prevent erosion, they also nourish and protect the soul. As I've said, this is more than just another book. It's wise, powerful, and very beautiful. I'm finding myself meditating on each of the images.

Unusual
The book is a present for a daughter who is a woodworker. I know that as soon as she opens it she'll say that it smells, which it does, presumably because of the inks used in the screen printing. But it's very beautiful and I know that she'll enjoy the legends associated with the pictures.

Mesmerising images
Beautiful book. Spotted it in the bookshop at the V&A and had to get a copy. It's a little stiff to handle and one feels that one can't fully open the pages flat due to this, but the images are wonderful.
