I don't mind that it doesn't have a boom since I have a separate boom stand at my piano. This one is clean and simple and easy to collapse and keep out of the way when I'm not recording. It holds my heavy condenser mic and pop filter without sliding down at all once it's locked in place. The weighted base isn’t as heavy as I’m used to, but it still keeps the stand steady with no wobbling. The round base takes up way less floor space than a tripod style stand and it is much less of a tip hazard. The sections adjust smoothly and the height range works well for me. I have professional mics that come with their own clamps, but this has a standard thread so they fit just fine. For the price this feels like a much more expensive stand and I'd recommend it for anyone who needs a reliable straight mic stand that’s easy to disassemble and store.
