This thing is great. I was also able to drill the clear plastic lid and mount push buttons in it. No cracking or scratching. Fair price also.

This Waterproof and Dustproof Transparent Electrical Box is made out of a rigid ABS Plastic Electrical Enclosure and comes with Aluminum DIN Rail, Hinged Lid, Wall Mount Bracket. The box itself also has mounting holes that let you hang it up without drilling holes through the back of the box so it keeps it's water- and dust-resistant properties better. It also comes with a lot of hardware for mounting and use of the box (see attached photo). 1. Flexible use for electrical or 'net uses (such as for a repeater out to your garage or shop). 2. Seals INCREDIBLY well; we had to actually use the flat back of a knife to break the initial seal, and we heard it suck in air when we broke the vacuum. 3. Large enough to be able to install whatever you need and keep it well protected, and have working room. 4. Comes entirely sealed; it's got template indicators along the ends where you could drill out whatever size holes you need for the wiring you're installing. 5. The latches are metal and aren't just bent/creased plastic - they'll let you access the internal area multiple times without incident. 6. The seal feels like a silicone tube, and conforms to the body of the box extremely well. 7. Large, clear door so you can see everything inside. About the only things to be aware of would be: 1. The clear lid/cover - We'll be mounting our box in a shady area out of direct sunlight to prevent any long-term sun damage. The lid isn't flimsy or floppy, though, and feels like it'll last a long time. 2. No tube of sealant or sealant tape. So be sure that you pick up your preferred brand of flexible sealant to put around the wiring that you'd install, so if you need it extremely water- and dust-PROOF, just be aware. We only need to seal it enough to keep it generally clean and prevent wasps/hornets from making a nest inside.

I was a bit worried about this box actually being waterproof, especially with it having a latch for wealing. However, I gave it a 5 minute test in the tub and it did not leak, so that's a good sign. The box itself is a good size with a fitted rim and "o-ring" seal. The latches do provide a good strong seal keeping water out. The box comes with 2 1/2 inch NPT cable glands. There are plenty of places on the sides where you can put these glands and no worries about causing stress fractures on the walls when your drilling for the glands. The Box comes with wall mounting hardware and has pre-drilled holes on the back to accept the mounting hardware. All in all, this is a good waterproof electrical box and earns 4 stars for doing its job. ************** VINE Notice ************************ Even though I have been given this product as part of a VINE review by Amazon, my reviews are honest and not influenced by receiving the product. This is a very sturdy box. It has good seals and strong clasps so it should be reasonable water tight (used it in a sheltered spot, so waterproofing was not much of an issue). Cover/door is on strong hinges and is sturdy plastic as well. It comes with 2 waterproof feeds for round cable, compression style. The box comes with no holes or punchouts - you need to drill as you see fit. Also includes mounting ears and large plastic anchors (4). The rear of the box has an insert base that screws to the box; you can mount stuff on the base and then screw down, no need to put holes in the box for mounting stuff. Also includes a mounting rail and 8 self tap screws for this.

Good box for the purpose, but it doesn't have pre-drill holes and $37 is too high.

This junction box is enormous. Way bigger than I thought, but that's just fine. It arrived with a pretty heavy suction inside proving that the seal is incredibly effective. There's plenty of room for components, and the mounting hardware is sturdy.
