I Like Myself!

My daughter absolutely loves this book. My daughter is white but loves seeing children of all colours in her books, perfect story for her which she loves and reads to herself often

Cute book with a lovely message. My daughter is only 7 months but I read her this- important to get the message of the book as early as possible I think!

The only dislike was a personal one with a change of tone in the story, which I feel could have left out completely - as the book is brilliant!!! Great illustrations, wonderful moral. Beautiful!!!

Just gave this to my daughter on her fifth birthday. We read it at least six times at bedtime: After the third, she said "mummy, this is a very important book. It tells me how much I have to like myself. And sometimes I don't like myself but now i know I can." She is learning it off by heart and I have to say, as a mother, I am going to learn it off by heart too. It's been thirty years since I could say most of that truthfully and wouldn't it be wonderful if our children could learn to love themselves from seeing their parents by happy too? I can't recommend it enough, although she thinks it is sad that the lion cried on one page. Large, solid board pages and in a sturdy colourful print. Excellent.

The book has a nice theme to it but the illustrations are quite dark, especially the scene with the little girl laughing at a crying lion in a cage - not really in keeping with the message of the story...

Nice illustrations for children, lovely message also. The book lost one star because I was expecting a 'normal' book not a book board - I realise this is my fault, but also this seems to be aimed at young children because of this. I was hoping that it may be good for a 7 year old, but I'm not sure how they would feel reading a book board....?

Nice story for my school children

This is such a lovely book with unique illustrations and a positive message. The rhymes are fun to read and my baby stays engaged with it.
