Works to install IP camera in elevator cab that uses siamese coax cable runner
I saw that others had had success with putting in IP cameras in elevator cabs that were designed for older analog cameras using Siamese (RG59 coax+two wire power) cable runners. This allowed me to replace a failed Axis M7001 IP encoder coupled with an analog camera, with an IP dome camera that has night vision and WDR. The devices run on POE power from the ethernet switch, and supply POE power to the camera in the elevator cab. No configuration needed on the devices themselves, just plug in ethernet cables and BNC connectors, and play. Camera booted, got its reserved IP address via DHCP (I had to modify this in the DHCP server to use the new camera's MAC address instead of the old Axis encoder's), and it came online and responded to pings and the camera's configuration webpage allowed me to log in to the camera to check settings. In my NVR; I just had to change the camera type from Axis to the manufacturer of the IP camera and check the camera credentials, and it showed up with video streaming with a nice, clear image.

stable reliable connection, more expensive then the camera, got a second one for a high end camera
Installed and working with a Reolink 4k camera, its been reliable and fast through snow, wind, rain. It is installed inside its own plastic box painted to match the building. It takes a moment for it to fully connect, once it does the connection is stable. The run is about 75feet. I would say it has been durable, I need more time to tell. The small cheap dongles have the worlds cheapest metal inside the cat5 connectors that have a bimetal issue, this seems to have matched the standard metal used in most cat5 wires.

Great EOC Product
Works just as good as other higher-end brands. We use these to support elevator cabin IP cameras when needed in a jiffy, with Amazon making supply simple.

Goes the distance, doesn't do multicast
I am using these EOC adapters to connect a low-power WiFi AP and a HomeKit gate controller at the end of 1800 ft. of RG11 coax that runs from the house to the gate. I have a PoE switch, but I went ahead and purchased the Linovision 30W PoE injector in order to get the most power down the cable. You'll need to be able to add BNC connectors onto your coax, which can be a challenge. Once it's all hooked up, though, network function works, PoE works...so, for basic network connectivity, this is a great solution. There is a caveat. These modules only pass unicast IP traffic. I deducted a star because that information should be included somewhere in the description or specifications. HomeKit, and most other smart home systems, rely upon Bonjour/Zeroconf, which relies on multicast traffic--primarily mDNS--for service discovery and general operation. So if you want to use these to extend your network out to a smart home device, including smart cameras, you'll need to have a way to publish the device's mDNS record(s) manually so your smart home controller can find it. For example, you can use dns-sd on macOS, or avahi on linux...but it's non-trivial. Don't expect it to "just work." Linovision's tech support was responsive to my question regarding this issue. It took them a few days, but they did finally confirm that this device does not pass multicast traffic. This makes a certain amount of sense from the standpoint of optimizing network bandwidth, but it should be mentioned in the documentation. It would be really nice to have the ability to enable multicast if desired. All in all, the fact that I can get solid PoE and network connectivityโlack of multicast notwithstandingโover 1800 ft of coax is amazing. These units are super compact, they donโt seem to run hot, and by golly they work. Iโm impressed. Update: After running great nonstop for several weeks, the "Receiver" (which is the module that "receives" ethernet & power and sends it down the coax) completely died. Linovision tech support came through immediately, and had a replacement to me very quickly. So, another customer service win for them. I am, though, concerned about the root cause of the failure, because I don't want the new one to die in a few weeks. Since the unit has an internal heat sink, and it's associated with the power circuitry, I'm going to start with an assumption that something overheated in or around those components. I'll see what I can do to keep the replacement cooler, and see how long it lasts. Fingers crossed. Update 2: The replacement unit has been in service for over a year now, and is working great. Apparently my gate is a high-static area and tends to eat electronics during lightning storms. After adding good grounding to the coax, the DC lines, even the gate itself, things have become much more stable and reliable.

I was skeptical, but these things actually work, and work well.
I own a company providing IT, Automation, and Camera systems for large homes here in Texas and I was skeptical when I saw these. The way of the world is IP cameras but a job we were bidding on was wired with the old RG59 with 16/2 siamese type cable and it would have been impossible and costly to run new wire. Of course, the client wanted the latest and greatest IP-type cameras to use with the automation system we were putting in, so I started searching. I found these and could not believe that one, how inexpensive they were, and 2, they actually solve a HUGE issue in our industry. So I bought a set to test at our shop and low and behold they were literally plug and play. So I bid the job with them specified and it went off without a hitch. Whats even more amazing is they include two adapters in the kit that just have two screww terminals markets + and - on one end and a BNC connector on the other. There wasn't anything in the instructions about this and I wouldn't have given them another thought as we just use the existing wire and add our own BNC connector. However, one of the coax wires on this job had been cut leaving the 16/2 wire the only thing intact. On a whim, I hooked those little adapters up to the 16/2 at either end and it just worked. So that is a 4K camera sending its signal 155 feet over a speaker wire and looks just as good as being hooked up with a network wire. I am completely shocked by these and we will be ordering more.

They work
Worked exactly as advertised to use my old coax cables to power my new cameras

Look Elsewhere..
Product will link up but will not transmit data. We've bought 6 of these for use at a property and they did not work.

Life saver
I have replaced 48 cameras and change them to POE. 6 of them were impossible to replace cables, because they are under ground, that is why I had to use this device to use POE camera. I wasn't sure at the first time, because to good to be true. At first I installed three of them about one month ago, and they where working fine, with good 4K quality. I realized the two of them randomly turning off, but one of them always turned off. with lot of troubleshooting, I found out that specific one had a bad BNC connection. I changed the BNC head, now they working perfectly. Remember to make a good BNC head, otherwise you will have problem on all of them, if they are in the same network. Anyway I bought 3 more, and installed them outside into LINOVISION EOC Converter Waterproof Box. They are working fine for now, lets see if in raining days or in the hot summer will be good too. cross our fingers. the quality of unit by itself is very good, well made.
