Batteries are included and have a 50 hour battery life. Batteries can be replaced, it uses 3 - L736. Smooth writing ballpoint with black ink will glide across your surface. Effective and Elegant
This pen works very well. Like another reviewer, I had to wrap a piece of black tape around the edges of the light to keep it focused only on my little notebook. Otherwise, the light spreads around the black bedroom and wakes my wife up.The pen looks and feels identical to my Montblanc fountain pen, except in silver trim rather than gold.I highly recommend this pen to authors and people who receive subconscious inspirations in the middle of the night.

Felt wonderful when staying together
I love the concept behind the pen. Had a nice weight. Comfortable to hold However the barrel would often come onscrewed. They didn’t seem to matchbperfect. I used plumbing seal papers when connecting joints. This helped cfrcawhilecci could not feel comfortable goving as a gift

Pretty Pen
Although I do not write in the dark, I love the colors and the design of this pen and how write very smoothly. I'm disappointed that there were no instructions or box telling where we can get refills and how to change the light battery. Since I just got this today, it's hard to say how long the ink will last. Time will tell.

REORDER!!!!!
I reordered pen because I lost original and I love pen all components of it. The stylus allows for easy maneuvering of my mobile's keyboard as my fingernails, depending on length, get in the way. I periodically participate in ceremonies in which we need to use penlights. This 3-in-1 is absolutely perfect for the person, specifically woman, who is trying to cutdown on number of items in her purse.

Not to bright and writes smooth
I do a lot of writing and much of it in low or no light so this pen is great for that. It’s bright enough to see what your writing and a little above and below so it’s easy to write neatly. Not bright enough to ruin your night vision and that can be important at times. All in all a great pen and good value

My new favorite pen!
These pens are great — nicely designed, easy to use, and they feel good in your hand. The first one I ever used was a gift from a business contact, and I liked it so much that I bought these, so I could continue using them. They’re especially great if you need to make quick notes in a low-light setting.

Love this pen!
It's a good size in the hand, writes smoothly, and the light is super bright. Bright enough that you really shouldn't point it at anyone's eyes.

A neat combination pen
Very handy, the only problem being that I can't get the stylus to work with my iPhone screen.
