This book looks great so far
This book looks great so far, I recently studied a fine arts degree and was struggling as to what field to go into, I now know I want to further my studies into interior design, it gives examples of case studies and projects, I now know how to put together a mood board and have more understanding of what tools are needed when contemplating a design. Very happy customer!!

Think I failed.
Demonstrates that you either have a designer mind set and "get it" or you're not. I'm not and so found it hard work. Told me more about designers than about how to be one. The failing is mine, not the book.

Great book with all the key interior design lessons
Having just finished an interior design degree at uni I originally got this out at the library to help with an assignment, I ended up buying it properly as it had so much stuff we'd actually been taught at uni and thought it would be a good reference for when I'm finished. Would definitely recommend this for someone looking to take interior design seriously.

Straightforward
Bought as a Christmas gift for someone who wished they pursued a career in interior design. The book looked well presented and easy to read. Being a new 2018 edition was a bonus for me in making my final decision.

An OK Intro to Interior Design
This books provides a whistle-stop tour of the basic stages of an interior design project, with tips on professional practice and small tasks to get you thinking about the design of places you know and how you could change them The chapters are well organized and take your through each major step of a project from inception to completion. However, it really is quite brief and you aren't going to find a lot of technical detail. With the exception of the section on technical drawing, most people with a passing interest in interior design probably won't find anything in this book that they didn't already know or could have guessed. In short, this book is great to whet your appetite for interior design and help you decide whether it is a career you might be interested in persuing further; but beyond that you aren't going to gain a great deal from this one.

Author does not explain processes
Desperately wanted this book to work for me, however I have re-read the first few chapters over and over and find the most crucial aspects of learning how to be a designer too woolly to grasp. Practices are merely hinted at and methods are not explored. The step by step tasks just confuse as they fail to explain and tie together the reasoning behind the tasks and how you are meant to do them and what you are trying to gain from doing them. Feeling very frustrated and angry that this book has failed me. The latter chapters are more explanatory but these chapters are focused on common general knowledge that most people on the planet already know.
