Detroit Speed's How to Build a Pro Touring Car (Sa Design) Paperback – Illustrated, October 21, 2014

No time for a good review but I like the material covered. I do wish it covered the C3 Corvette. I just added a 77 to my mix but have a 68 Camaro RS that I purchased back in 84. Just now time to work on it since I joined the Navy that same year and now working overseas. Retirement project I guess. Pro touring as an senior...hmmm, just seems backwards but I refuse to give up the dream. My car was a repaired rollover (didn't find out about that until years later) and has a rotted out trunk. Not a good candidate according to the book but as long as I make sure the body is straight then replacing rusted out or damaged parts will allow me to replace that stuff with a better goal in mind. Just need to figure out what LS engine I'll use. LS3 probably.

Great over all book on Pro Turing and Resto Mods. DSE is the leader in the industry and they continue to manufacture suspension kits for all the popular classics!

Great book! Lots of specifics on how to make Pro Touring updates to any car, but the main focus is GM products, and first gen Camaros in particular. The book is well illustrated with color photos. There is a bunch of history and information on Detroit Speed, but I didn't feel as though the book was just an advertisement for their products.

Good tips in general, but focused 95% on GM vehicles only. If you have a car from another brand only the generic tips would be useful.

Not happy with my purchase. I bought this book and I have to say I am extremely disappointed. Looking at the chapters it would appear that the content is valuable. However, the book goes into no detail, does not provide meaningful guidance and has no information that you couldnt find in 5 minutes on the net. I am a fan of DSE product and have serval in my pro touring build. This to me reads more like a book you may give to your spouse to explain the most basic basic things that are completely foreign to them. Like.. what is a brake system...If you are looking for meaningful information from this book I would pass... if you are looking to avoid explaining to you wife what you mean when you say you are building a pro-touring car.. it might help..

Less about building a pro-touring car and more about Detroit Speed. There's bits of info, but it's akin to a greatly expanded intro to a catalog than a book on how to build a pro-touring car.
