Sanatop RE-100 Sensor Security USB Fingerprint Reader Password Lock for Laptop PC Black-Silver

I ordered this product for the price, because I've had good luck with finger print scanners in the past but my previous one didn't have proper security. Upon opening the package, I went to put this item on my desk and then connect it to my computer. The mini USB cord was only about a foot and a half long. Unless I planned on putting the scanner directly on top of or next to my desktop tower, the cord would be way too short. Still, I had another one and used that.I then inserted the mini cd, which came with 2 executables - one for the drivers, and another for the program to manage the content (passwords, finger enrollments, file safe, etc.) This installed very easily and required me to reboot the computer.After reboot I brought up the enrollment. It required me to scan each individual finger 6 times. On the 6th time, after all of my finger prints were read successfully, the program returned to me that my first enrollment failed. I tried again, and on the 3rd time, 4th swipe returned a successful enrollment. (16 finger swipes in total for one finger.) One down, 9 to go. The second through 7th fingers all took as much or more effort, needing 3-4 enrollments of 6 finger swipes each, sometimes returning success on the 4th - 5th swipe within each enrollment. I quit after enrolling 7 fingers, since I probably did 150-200 finger swipes in total and got tired of getting error messages.After enrolling, I put in my windows password and locked my computer in an attempt to unlock it via fingerprint. After several tries to unlock my computer with each finger that was sucessfully enrolled, the product went back in its casing and will be returned today. The device itself is smaller than some other fingerprint scanners I've used. It is also not "Recessed" at all, which guides you to swipe your finger the same way every time. Plus, the reader looks to be slightly smaller than the width of all my fingers, which could also cause incorrect readings.Bottom line, a lot of small issues here combine to form a product that I can't ever see working for anybody. There was nothing wrong physically with this device, it was just poorly constructed. Don't waste your time with this item.

Received Sanatop RE 100 USB fingerprint reader along with CD. CD was empty and no driver software available.USB fingerprint reader is not working. Looking for support.Waiting for response
