Sin Is In

Even though the description is for the Freakshow DVD-Audio by Gastr del Sol, I did in fact receive the Killer Barbies DVD which has loads of videos and is a great deal.

I took a chance on buying this CD and I was definitely not disappointed. Great songs, kind of a No Doubt feel to them but definitely more punk-rock in nature. Plus the Spanish songs will have you singing the words in your head, even if you don't understand what they're saying. This CD made me bookmark the Killer Barbies website so I can check out their latest developments. You will not be disappointed by this CD.

This CD is less punk than the other ones. Even if they claim to be very attached to their punk influences (77's punk like Sex Pistols, Buzzcocks...), their music is more rock.But anyways...This record was produced two and a half years after "Bad taste" so we can see the lyrics are more mature and that the band made a big efffort for this cd to sound good but it the end it's not something really special but it's worth a listening.

Ein sehr stimmungsvolles Album, höre ich mir auch nach Jahren immer wieder gern an. Teils auf Spanisch, teils auf englisch (mit starkem, alerdings charmantem spanischen Akzent) gesungene mal eher punkige, dann wieder poppige Stücke. Alles sehr annehmbar.Die Killerbarbies kannte ich nur durch ihr Duett mit Bela B. - das Cover von Iggy Pops "Candy" ist grandios! Schade, dass auf "Sin is in" nur ein eher schlechter Remix drauf ist, den hätten sie sich wirklich sparen können.

Wenngleich nicht alle Titel meine Geschmacksrichtung treffen, so bietet die CD pure Unterhaltung und lässt keine Langeweile aufkommen. Daher meine volle Kaufempfehlung.
