Modern French Course Paperback – 1 January 1997

I am a teacher and I ordered this book from Amazon India as this book offers ample material for Translation, both from English to French and French to English. Grammar exercises are also given which can help the students master the grammar topics.The only problem would be - for a new student - the pronunciation part as this book does not come with any CD. Otherwise, this book is complete and super.

In my school days,(1960s) we used Dondo's book to learn French which was considered to be the best and I believe it still is.I bought the book to re-study French so as to converse with my grandkids!!!!!

The book itself is really good, beyond doubt. It was delivered well in time, and in mint condition. But the quality of printing as well as the quality of the paper used seem to indicate that it is not an authorised reprint, very poor quality paper and print, except for the cover.

The cover is unlike the old hard cover.The print is too small and quality of paper is not very good.Matter is excellent, all in all advisable to purchase.

For French, it is very important to study correct pronunciation as well. Pronunciation is with IPA, which can make things bit complicated. Except for this, it is very good and standard textbook for French :)
