ASE Test Preparation - P2 Parts Specialist (Delmar ASE Test Preparation)

This book, along with some free materials provided by my place of employment, prepared me to pass my P2 exam within a short period of time. The book is plenty well thought out and easy to read, and has good diagrams. There are multiple errors in the practice exam though, so it gets docked one star for that due to me being confused a couple of times.An example of this: Question: Something easy that you KNOW the answer to...Answer A would state INCORRECT (even thoough you know it is correct) and then it explains why it IS correct? What?Answer B Correct (which would be way wrong) stating why it is way wrong.Answer C Incorrect and why its incorrectAnswer D Incorrect and why its incorrect.This confused me the first couple of times until I realize what to look for. This could definitely be improved.

The first time I took the P2 test,I didn't use study material and I failed it by one point.I bought this book and on my second attempt I passed by one point.I think more than anything this book gives you the philosophy behind the answers.It's one thing to understand you answered a question incorrectly yet an entirely different world when you ask WHY you answered incorrectly and that is the beginning of stacking the odds in your favor.The practice test will help you learn your weak areas and shore up those areas with explanations for the correct answer followed by footnotes to the tasks that further explain the reasoning for the correct answer.However keep in mind that the practice test is not the actual test because there are many versions of it. ASE goes through too much trouble to keep the integrity of the test at a certification level. Good luck and God bless

Well presented fountain of info on parts and ASE test prep

I will not be 100% certain without buying directly from the publisher if this was perhaps a fake copy that I received. I found multiple discrepancies that I had to bring up to local parts specialists that were baffled by the complete incorrectness of the contents of some of these questions. However, the majority of the contents is correct and accurate, my only concern is how the incorrect stuff is misleading and can cause mistakes made while working a job if taken in as pure factual. I attained a college education in a generalized automotive program and otherwise had no prior knowledge of the field. I would not recommend to anyone who does not already have an education in vehicle maintenance and repair due to how misleading the few items are and the unlikeliness they could catch them. However, the rest of it is a good study guide for passing the ASE P2 exam

This study guide is a good start for passing the P2 ASE examination. The first section covers how ASE asks questions, and it helped me prepare for that. The last section of questions, with the answers explained, was the most helpful. Please be aware that these questions are not the same as those on the actual exam--only similar. Also, if you work for AutoZone, as I do, all of the policy, telephone, and returns questions in this study guide and on the actual ASE examination are different from AutoZone's. Select your answers based on the style found in this study guide.

Way way better than the competitor's prep manual. Still, I've been using this in the parts program I teach at a local college and there are a bunch of errors in the test answers. Someone really needs to edit these things that is familiar with the subjects.

Good book full of good information. It covers a wide range of areas to help you study for the ASE test. It has many practice exams in the back to help you prepare for the test.
