Very thin but great blanket!
I'm in love with this blanket, but I do have to say that it's much thinner than I was expecting. There is very little fill, and it certainly doesn't puff up like the picture. In my 61-degree house, I've had to toss a fleece blanket on top of it to stay warm, so if you keep your house at a normal temperature it'll probably work just fine. I can't stand to sleep with weight on me, so this is definitely an improvement over the series of heavy comforters I've tried in the past. I haven't noticed any of the crinkly noises that others have mentioned, and what I'm smelling is more like a reminder of fresh hay. Since I happen to love that smell, the blanket is a comfort to me! The stitching seems to be of excellent quality. I'd like to get more and put them on all of our beds.12/25/20: After using it for a year, I asked for another one just because I'm still in love with it! My house is now 58 degrees inside with temperatures below freezing outside, and one of these plus a cheap fleece blanket keeps me toasty every night. The comforter has held up well and softened nicely. It looks as good now as it did the day I got it, in spite of not using a duvet and sleeping with an 80-pound Shepherd. I'm trying to convince all of my relatives that they need one, too.3/10/21: Against all advice, I washed this in my large-capacity top-loading washer and then dried it in my large-capacity front-loading dryer without tennis balls. Didn't have an issue! It dried well (normal setting for 60 minutes) and came out clean and fluffy. The year-old one looks no different than the newer one, and I'm still in love with them.9/24/21: Getting ready to buy a third one so I don't have to keep stripping the bed every time I want to wrap up in the living room. These comforters are the best buys I've ever made.

Not horrible, not great, just meh..
**I spent way too much time researching down/down alternative comforters, until I just broke down and ordered 3 different ones to compare**Overall, really not terrible. I ordered 3 comforters on Amazon. I got 2 delivered so far, this one and another one, and so far liked the other one more. I did sleep with it the first night, it really wasn't bad at all. It was pretty comfortable, and Kept me warm but not too hot. It is a little "noisy" but I really didn't mind that at all. It's kinda like the sound of comfort lolThe reason I gave it 3 stars is because it's just OK. Once I felt the other comforter I got, I immediately knew I wanted to return this one. The other one I ordered is significantly softer than this one. If you're like me and plan on using a duvet cover (which I'd recommend regardless) then this difference may not matter to you.One thing I did not like was how big the box stitching is with how little fluff is in each square. What ends up happening is, whatever little fluff is in each square, all gets shoved to a side/corner and isn't evenly distributed. If the squares had been sewn smaller, I think this would be a great product especially for the price. However, if these few things wouldn't bother you, this would be a great down comforter for you. I did think it was awesome at first, until I saw and felt my 2nd option. That's when I felt very "mehhh...." with this one. Again, not horrible.

Really nice, smells like a barn
After spending a shameful amount of my life researching down comforters, I settled on this one. I got it because it's real down, lightweight, 100% cotton cover, and the price was great. Really great, actually. I thought maybe there was a glitch in the system and bought it before they figured it out and raised the price. But it's still the same price at the time of this review.Right out of the box, it's what I expected: a lightweight, inexpensive down duvet. Seems to fluff up alright. Only thing is a very weird smell. Not a chemical smell, though. Don't worry, no weird black mold to report (sidenote: is there a mold epidemic for Amazon bedding? Is their bedding warehouse under a tarp in a field?) But I would describe the smell as wet barn. Or stale puddle. I tried airing it out on the porch railing, I'm not sure if the sun made it better or baked in the smell. I have now washed and fully dried it twice, the second time using bleach, made sure to fully dry it, and it still stinks. The good news is it washes well, though. Bad news is it smells like an old sock.

Just what I was looking for
I like this comforter because it’s light but still fluffy. I have yet to wake up too hot and have had it for the last two(ish) months (June/July). I took a star away because it did have a funny smell when I pulled it out of the bag. Not quit mildewy but along those same lines. It didn’t go all the way away after the first wash but after a second I didn’t smell it anymore. Great product for the price point.

Very soft with just the right weight. I love this down comforter!
This is a great product. Already washed it once and it looks and feels brand new. It is incredibly soft with just the right amount of down. It is perfect for hotter houses, summer, or year round (I live in the subtropics). Also great for people who feel like the comforter weighs more than them or it is just too heavy for many reasons (medical conditions). I couldn't be happier with my purchase. The interesting thing is I bought some sateen-like cotton sheets that were also incredibly soft but after washing them not at all. This comforter feels as silky as it did when I first bought it. You will enjoy!

great comforter
I ordered this for myself but my teen grandson has scooped it up and claims it for himself. It has the "noise" that comes with down blankets, but he loves that. He says it's a noise that goes right along with his fans that he keeps running in his room. I'm pleased that it's lightweight and he's pleased with the warmth. I think it will be a good year-round weight/warmth. We're in SE Texas, so we don't need a lot of mega warming.

The very best to keep us warm in the winter..
Down comforters have been and are still being used in Europe for a very long, long time. Cover them with a comforter cover, washed or replaced. Never wash a down comforter in a washing machine or by hand, which will destroy it.
