The stain puts a nice tint to the white wood I used it on ...
This is a review on how the finish looks, as I just applied it a week ago... I will update after the snow is here and gone and the wood has had a chance to be exposed to the hot sun for a month or so...The stain puts a nice tint to the white wood I used it on in the picture... I don't know the exact type of wood, but it looks to be blue pine... I did 5 of these boxes, and will try it on other types of wood before the summer is over, just to get an idea of the different shading...For the 5 boxes, I used a total of about 1/4 gallon, so assuming that, the gallon would cover 20 boxes (23 in wide x 14 high)Pour a little bit of the product into a bowl if using a brush after shaking... Use it up, shake the gallon again and use a little more... Keep doing that... (If you mix the product in the gallon jug and leave it for a while, you'll see why you have to shake it often)

I am very pleased with the results
I ordered this product because I was building a 3-tier raised garden bed, and wanted a natural, safe wood preservative to extend the life of the redwood I purchased. I have to say, I am very pleased with the results. The product was easily applied through a spray bottle, and then wiped down afterwards in order to ensure the solution soaked into the wood completely. Mixing was simple, although if you want to prolong the product, you can mix smaller quantities. For reference, the proper dilution ratio is 0.1563 grams per 1 oz of water.I used a 25 oz spray bottle, so using my reloading scale I measured out the proper ~3.9 grams and mixed in the bottle. Saved the rest for another project. I really think the results speak for themselves, the wood showed a visible change minutes after application. Furthermore, it should continue to deepen in color as it is exposed to rain.I've attached before and after pictures to show you all what the preservative looks like with redwood. It honestly looks so much more aesthetically appealing than the untreated wood did, I can't express enough how much I like this product for projects similar to this, I'll be using this exclusively in the future for all of my raised garden beds.

So interesting!
I mixed the water to powder and painted it on my new garden beds. Suddenly the new garden beds matched my year old weathered beds next to them! I used a couple coats. It will be interesting to see how the wood holds up with this stuff. I bought this specifically to use for my garden beds because I read it's safe to use with growing food.

Add food coloring to slightly tint lumber
I used this mixed with a bottle of black food coloring to treat lumber for a terraced garden. Didn't have much of an effect on color after drying, but darkened enough to match my old fence. 4 months in and no deterioration in the lumber. Pieces that weren't treated have degraded just setting in my yard, so this stuff works. See images for treated boards against my fence with one board natural, and the image of the finished garden.

Nice tone!! Safe way to preserve wood.
So easy to use. Yes- it does change the tone of the wood!! My second photo is immediately after I finished applying it. Only down side was finding out how cheap the active ingredient, ferrous sulfate, usually is. Still, I had no need for a 5 gallon bag or anything like that so this was a perfect amount for treating a large pine dresser inside and out. The gray and olive tones will intensify with age too !

Looks like a rip-off
If you missed the product weight in the description ... you will only receive 20g of powder. It is most likely some salt / mineral that is very inexpensive. I think this is a ripoff. I included the picture of what I received and included a spoon for the scale. It is hard to imagine such small amount of substance can defend so much surface against the elements. I am doubtful. Time will tell. I can give an update after some time. Even if it works, it IS a ripoff. It shouldn't cost that much.Update 6/20/2021:I should have read all the reviews and their website before I purchased the product. This product was never claimed to be a wood preservatives. As another reviewer pointed out, the word 'preservative' appears nowhere except in the company name. As a stain that makes the wood look weathered, this product works. I don't think this is a preservative. My goal in purchasing this was to extend the life of the redwood used in the raised bed. That characteristic was never claimed anywhere in the product description or on the web site. So I feel cheated by the deceptive company name. Reducing this to one star.

Beautiful finish
I bought this to stain my chicken coop as it was pet safe. Per directions mixed 1 pack with 1 gallon water. The coop turned out beautiful! At first I didn’t think I would have enough but this goes a long way and I had enough left over to go over a few places a bit more.

Not sure it did anything
I have no idea if this product does what it says. I put the mixture on a few wood items to test it and it goes on like water. The wood turned slightly more grey and gave it a natural weathered wood look (think 100 year old barn with no paint) I don't see how it's going to protect the wood for years to come but only time will tell
