M4 Stepless Adjustment Espresso Grinder

This is our 3rd grinder, and, yes, it costs more than our first espresso maker did (but less than half what our current one does). Without a doubt, this is the best grinder we have ever had, and it is universally regarded as one of the best in its class. After much research and talking to out neighbors who own a coffee roasting company, it came down to a choise between two and we settled on this one (I have forgotten what the other contender was). As our neighbor says, he sees this exact grinder at over half of the small coffee shops he sells to,

I have been using this grinder daily for over 10 years. It has ground about 700 pounds of coffee during that time. It is used exclusively for espresso. It is working today as well as it did on day 1, i.e. like new. Grind is adjusted using a worm gear which allows the user to make minute and precise changes to the grind settings. We chose the model with the doser because it allows easy access to the grinds chute which eliminates the grind retention issues that are common with the doserless models available today. The grinder is only 17 inches tall which should allow it to fit under the cabinets in most kitchens. The Macap M4 is a commercial grinder. It is built to withstand the day in/day out wear and tear of a low activity coffee shop. For a home environment it might be considered overkill but if your budget will allow it, it should be on your short list. I have not regretted the purchase of the M4 and have never felt the need to upgrade to something more expensive.

OK, this is for people who are cruising in the stratosphere of espresso-world.Or, like me, found a used one cheap to go with my equally cheap used La Pavoni Europiccola. I just get lucky sometimes.This will be passed on to your heirs. It is far, far better than any boutique ones with (once) reliable household kitchen names now branded on imports from China.You may work your way up the espresso and coffee maker ladder, but this is the ONLY grinder you will ever need.Whether you are grinding for espresso, extra fine for Turkish or medium grind for drip or moka pot, the consistency of the grind will make a difference. And it is quiet!

I've been using the M4 for 4 years now. Perfect grind every time! The stepless gear allows you to tweak the coarseness of the coffee ground based on the bean type and/or to your liking. If you are serious about making the best espresso from home, this grinder is a must have.
