Tilt and Pan Handles Lose Grip!
I've been using this product for almost a year, and I love it and I hate it at the same time. When it works, it works well, and conveniently. However, when I'm shooting a job, I have to consciously retighten the pan and tilt control handles (especially the tilt handle) since they seem to loosen during a shoot, causing the camera to violently slam forward. I've broken a lens hood because of this and have had numerous close encounters. I would love to love this piece of gear more, but right now I just hate it and will replace it.UPDATE: After yet another accident with this piece of gear, occurring just moments after retightening the tilt lever, I have thrown this frustratingly poorly designed item in a major body of water. BUYER BEWARE!

Great Tripod Head at a good Price
Great tripod head. My go to head for most situations. My second Benro head. Very intuitive. Built in levels really help. Smooth rotation. Adjustable in all tree planes. Bulky and a challenge to pack in a small or medium sized camera bag

Solid piece of gear
If your tripod comes with a ball head, you MIGHT not need this. I don't bother to swap it out my tripod's ball head to use this. Yet for the pan/tilt only tripods, it can make a good addition if those heads are made to come off. Setting precise angles with measurements is of course useful, esp. for product photography.

Benro HD3A fails to lock down the camera
Sadly this is a poorly designed cheap tripod head. I caution you to avoid it as it is a waste of money. This issue: The tightening knobs fail to ever lock it down tight. You can turn it so tight it hurts your hand tightening it down. Even then it fails to lock down the camera. Completely useless for photography.

No 1/4 adapter!
Overall very good quality. But a little upset that it is 3/8 thread and comes with no adapter to get to 1/4. So now I'm left with something unusable for an older tripod.

Excellent
Replaced another head, though a ballhead, with this one. Could not be happier. I use this with a Nikon spotting scope, virtually no drop. 100% satisfied.

A good Head - but stargazers need to adapt
Have already bought a Benro Ball Head with Arca-Swiss plate so I chose this head so all lenses/collars would be easily interchangeable. The HD2A is sturdy and the tensioning handles have a nice feel. but there is one design aspects that is worth noting.I prefer to orient the 70 mm plate ALONG the collar of my long lens. Intuitively, you'd be inclined to orient the Head with the handle facing the user but this limits the user to aiming the lens fully down (-90) to slightly up (+35) and this is obviously unsuitable for astrophotography. So you need to ensure that the controlling handle is oriented AWAY from the user which allows the lens to cover the whole sky. But with the handle on the OPPOSITE side from the user, making adjustments is awkward. It's not impossible but It'll take some getting used to.Of course with the plate attached perpendicular to the collar or lens, this is not a problem. And I'm still happy I bought the head despite this unexpected "feature" as it is otherwise well made. One other thing I found extremely irritating was Benro's failure to supply the usual 3/8" to 1/4" adapter. This is a shocking omission for such a brand (it was included with my Ball Head B0). Especially since the Full Specification on the Benro website make no mention whatsoever of the size of the tripod screw. If your tripod is configured to accept 1/4", be prepared to be frustrated by the out of box experience.

Excellent well worth the money.
I love this head! I shoot landscape and wanted total stability and this head gives me that. Fitted on my manfrotto tripod perfectly. No slipping on any of the axis when used for long exposure Astro photography and even doing star trails. Cons it is heavy but that is to be expected. The bubble levels on mine are not very accurate but I always use the level in the camera and on the tripod legs.

Never had an issue with Benro!
I own several Benro products; thus far the brand has not let me down. Ideal for moon photography, or landscapes. Very happy with the product.
