I busted a plug off inside the PC line out jack and didn't want to dig into it to try to fix it. Then I found this little wonder. Plug and play and voila it works like a charm. The only downside is that none of the internal sound features work on USB. For example, most of the music that comes in by way of the internet sounds thin and needs equalization to sound good on a decent system. I usually do that with either the PCs sound drivers or an add on product and can dial in a much better sound. However I have yet to find a way to apply any EQ or processing to the USB port when used for sound.Bottom line is that if you need a line out or line/mic into a PC for whatever reason, this thing does the job very well for a great price.

This product is an absolute necessity for anyone with a new(er) laptop that does not come with an external mic port. I tried three other manufacturers and their product did not work with my HP Windows 10 laptop. Further, the software and documentation that came with the other brand external sound card was marginal at best, confusing and basically did not work on Windows 10. THIS PRODUCT WORKS on all platforms. IT IS A TRUE PLUG AN PLAY DEVICE. No software, no fuss, plug it into a USB port, connect your external mic and speaker and you are good to go. Best Buy, WalMart and the other big box stores should inventory this item. I used it for my Digital connection to a Ham Radio see photo.

Worked immediately. No configuration required!I have a machine that upgraded to Windows 10. At some point during one of its automatic windows updates, the sound quit working. After spending 3 hours trying to troubleshoot it, I came across this as a work around. Best $8 I've spent! I plugged it in my USB card, plugged the speaker in, and immediately I had sound.Only shortcoming: it's wider than a USB port so it overlaps making the port next to it useless.

Love this little USB Sound Card. It solved all my problems with the installation of one of the original Nancy Drew Mystery games. After downloading the game from the CDs, I kept getting a sound error message and the game wouldn't play. I finally found the solution: the tech on Her Interactive said to install a USB sound card! I ordered this one and it arrived in two days. So I plugged it in with my headset and I could play my game! It's a terrific little sound card, too. Highly recommend it.

Worked like a charm, a little big and covers another port but did the trick after an apparent Microsoft 10 update, ugh, but I now have headphones again!! An option would possibly be to use in on a hub of sorts that would allow you go even maybe gain ports and keep your computer one that I've now have covered, hope this makes sense.

Like another reviewer stated, I had the same problem of no sound after installing windows 10. This device solved the problem quickly and easily. After you plug it in you have to make it your default sound device. After that you will have glorious sound again!

Audio output works fine, but even with the volume on the PC turned all the way to max, I have to turn up my Logitech speakers more than halfway to get a decent volume from them. Still, seeing as I needed it for audio output on a Dell Power Edge server, it was simple and affordable, so it's doing its job.

I purchased a condenser mic and phantom power supply through Amazon recently and discovered that the adaptor cable intended to connect my Macbook to said power supply was shoddy. I purchased this MAKETECH product as a replacement part and it arrived promptly and worked perfectly. It's a little too broad and blocks a few of my macbook's other ports, but one of the inputs blocked is the headphone jack and this adaptor includes a functional headphone connection. The only thing I really lost is my second Thunderbolt port, which I am currently not using.Overall, great product and service.
