10 Pack Siroflex Sink Strainers - Assorted Colors

My sister had one of these sink strainers and, after many years of use, the strainer was accidentally broken. Knowing that I can find just about anything on Amazon.com, I looked up sink strainers and, to my delight, found the same exact strainer that my sister had been using. The SIROFLEX SINK STRAINERS came in a multitude of colors and I purchased all of them. These strainers are invaluable for use in kitchen sinks to catch bits of food, etc., and basement sinks especially when washing clothes as they catch LOTS of lint. Just note that these particular strainers work best when the area around the sink hole is flat. If you use these in a sink that starts to curve upward from the hole (i.e., most bathroom sinks), the strainer may not work as well. I've recommended these to all family members and I personally think these strainers are one of the best on the market!

I have been looking in local stores trying to replace the original sink strainer I originally purchased from a vendor at the State Fair over 25 years ago. After all these years, the edges of the strainer were beginning to break off but I kept using it because I loved it. I wrote to the company hoping to be able to purchase replacements, but between the shipping and handling, etc decided to try Amazon. What a great surprise to find just what I wanted, and to have free shipping. I purchased the 10 pack assorted sink strainers that I also plan to give away as stocking stuffers to friends and family. I especially like these because they hold up well, do a great job keeping things from going down the drain, and as a bonus work very well used as a pot scrapper for cookware. Great product - do not know why stores do not carry but glad I found them (again) through Amazon. (Must always remember to check Amazon when trying to locate items!)

You'd think this little plastic strainer is of ordinary design, but it is quite unique. It fits INSIDE a regular ktichen sink drain hole so garbage falls into it. All the others are OVER the lip of the drain hole so garbage gets caught on the edge of the strainer. This strainer is light and easy to lift out and to cleam. I am happy with the assortment of colors on these strainers as the chrome color is 3 times the cost.

These didn't fit any of the drains in my camper.

Ok I was attracted by the bright colors and not too disappointed because they do fit in the bottom of my sink. Just could have used an easier way to pull it up.

I bought these to keep stuff like silverware and bottle caps from falling down into my garbage disposal. They do that well. It does not fit as neatly in the disposal opening as I had hoped - the reason for four stars instead of five - but it still works just fine. Although it has a little spike-like protrusion in the middle of the depression by which you can lift the gunky strainer out of the sink, I think it looks nicer to have it sitting the other way, like a little hat.Another site says they're dishwasher safe but a quick wipe with a soapy dishrag was sufficient for me.They're rather flimsy compared to a metal strainer, but what do you want for such a low price? That's why I bought the 10-pack, and actually, I am pleasantly surprised because I expected the plastic to be much more lightweight and either floppy or thin and brittle. The bright colors amuse me. You do not necessarily get the exact colors shown in the picture; I received 1 yellow, 2 pink (more of a mauve), 1 teal, 1 dark blue, 1 light blue, 1 green, 1 black, and 2 "chrome", no red, white, or brown. Packaging was not excessive, two plastic bags with five strainers each inside a padded envelope.It's a small thing but I'm happy to have a product made in Italy instead of yet another thing made in China.Although the description says they can be used for a bathtub drain, it does not fit over the round drain cover in my bathtub - I use a strainer much like the  Hair Snare Drain Cover Universal - White  to keep hair out of the drain.Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase. As I said above, the only thing keeping this from a five-star review was the sloppy fit.

These sink strainers are durable - generally toss them when the chrome peels. These new colors are great. Mostly, however, we use them because they work perfectly - straining the nasty bits and pieces without impeding the flow of waste water. Easy to clean - a quick dishwash and they are like new. Overall, it's great to find a simple thing that works.

I like it better than many similar product because it sits down into the drain, and not overlapping the edges. It has the little thingy you can grab to pick it up. Small bits don't get up under it, and fall into your drain pipe. Easier to clean and doesn't get as "gunky" as the wire mesh ones.
