V itamin C Benefits
RESEARCH ON VITAMIN C BENEFITSSUE ROSS, MPA 11-29-15RESEARCH #1: bembu.coBoosts the Immune System– Your immune system is vital to your overall feelings of wellness and to keep you from getting the common cold and other bugs that go around the home or office. It’s what gives Vitamin C its big reputation for being a cold fighter. When your immune system is in proper working order you feel like you can take on the world, and when it is run down and depleted from a lack of proper nutrients, you’re leaving yourself open to all sorts of colds and illnesses. Top up on natural sources of Vitamin C every day!Helps Skin Heal– One of the marvels of the human body is its ability to repair itself. You can watch a cut or scrape gradually heal itself, many times leaving no scar behind. Why not help your skin out by giving it the building blocks it needs? Clinical research shows that Vitamin C helps the skin heal itself and can even play a part in repairing your DNA. Helping to prevent DNA mutations is key to keeping your body healthy and disease-free. Two big reasons why you’ll want to make sure you’re not running low on this important vitamin.Keeps You Regular– It’s been noted that Vitamin C is a natural cure for constipation, but a better way to go about it is to keep your levels up so that you don’t get constipated in the first place. Although it’s a natural laxative, you have to consume large amounts of it in order to trigger a bowel movement. Instead, by keeping your Vitamin C level at the right spot you will be less likely to have trouble going. The nice part about using Vitamin C instead of drugs to help you go is that it’s non-habit forming and all-natural.Helps with Depression– Vitamin C acts as a sort of all natural tranquilizer to help you feel less anxious and more calm. It can be used in conjunction with other supplements to try to treat depression naturally, but might not be enough for severe cases. It’s always best to consult with your doctor about the best treatment plan for your condition. Don’t forget that other vitamins also play a key role in feeling good and keeping the brain healthy, such as Vitamin D and Vitamin B. Keeping healthy levels of all your vitamins from natural sources is key to your mental health.Helps Blood Pressure - If you’re struggling with high blood pressure and are looking for a way to treat it without resorting to prescription drugs and statins, you may want to pay extra attention to your Vitamin C intake and see if that works. It may be all you need to get your BP levels to a place that keeps your doctor happy, and gives you a better quality of life. Not only has Vitamin C been shown to help lower blood pressure, but it also helps your vascular system overall which can lessen your chance of a heart attack or stroke.Helps Cholesterol Levels– If your cholesterol levels aren’t where they should be, you may want to look at how much Vitamin C you’re getting and see if it’s enough. Evidence suggests that Vitamin C can help to lower your cholesterol, but it’s not as easy as just popping some Vitamin C tablets. Research done using supplements is not as promising as the findings on getting natural Vitamin C from food sources. Another benefit to using natural sources of Vitamin C is that they don’t come with the side effects that are sometimes present when using a supplement.Helps Manage Stress Levels– Stress is caused by a number of factors, including the rushed pace of our modern society. But the body is equipped to handle the stressors that come with everyday life, as long as we treat it good and give it what it needs to survive. Vitamins play a big part in this, and Vitamin C is near the top of the list as a powerful antioxidant that can help reduce free radical damage. The results: those that get the right amount of Vitamin C don’t show the signs of stress. Bonus: It works on both a physical and psychological level.DISEASES AND CONDITIONSHelps with Heart Disease– Because of its assistance in several different areas regarding the cardiovascular system, Vitamin C is an important vitamin to keep up on if you want to keep your heart healthy. It’s been shown to help keep free from stress, keep your blood pressure down, and your cholesterol levels low. The Mayo Clinic reminds people that you can’t rely on vitamins alone to prevent heart disease, and they can’t overcome the negative effects of an unhealthy lifestyle. So take a comprehensive approach to your health and start breaking bad habits while forming good ones.Helps with Osteoporosis– Vitamin C helps your body absorb calcium, and along with a proper intake of this vitamin plus other nutrients like Vitamin D and Phosphate, you’ll be setting the stage for your body to help correct the symptoms of osteoporosis. Of course you’ll also want to get enough calcium coming, the supplementary vitamins and minerals simply help your body use that calcium to the best of its ability so it doesn’t go to waste. Always ask your doctor about the best ways to treat your condition, using a mix of medication and all-natural treatments is often effective.Helps with Age-Related Macular Degeneration– In order to get the best results, you’ll want to combine Vitamin C with other antioxidants to help treat this debilitating disease. This is one area where the research has been done and scientists agree that one of the major factors is a vitamin deficiency, and once this is cleared up the symptoms improve. Improving your nutrition is one of the ways that you can turn this around, and it becomes a matter of learning which foods are high in which vitamins, and incorporating more of them into your daily diet plan. You don’t have to overdo it, just don’t run a vitamin deficit anymore.Helps with Asthma– This is one instance where you’ll want to use Vitamin C supplements in addition to food sources. This is because in order to have an effect you’ll need more than the typical amount found in most foods with high levels of Vitamin C in them. The idea is that the Vitamin C helps with inflammation, and therefore can reduce your asthma symptoms. Many of the claims are anecdotal, but there are enough of them to merit a try and see how you respond. The scientific stance is that it’s inconclusive, but they have noticed that those with asthma often have low levels of Vitamin C.Helps with Gout– All signs point to Vitamin C being able to help those suffering from gout. The best results came from a combination of eating more Vitamin C-rich foods and also taking Vitamin C supplements. And it was worth making these small changes because those that did were shown to have nearly half the chance of developing symptoms as those that didn’t. Of course you should also follow other recommendations as far as which foods to avoid that can trigger an onset of symptoms. Many people find that they can control their gout attacks by making sure they don’t eat foods that act as triggers.Helps with Arthritis– Vitamin C has also been linked to helping soothe the symptoms of arthritis. Many times antioxidants act as an anti-inflammatory. In this case it’s the combination of helping the body produce collagen, and also battling back those pesky free radicals that provides the help for arthritis sufferers. It’s wise to try to get the proper amount of all of your vitamins, and not focus primarily on Vitamin C, but with its ability to help keep your joints healthy, it’s one that you particularly don’t want to overlook. Up your intake of Vitamin C foods, and also consider using a supplement if you find you can’t eat enough to get your levels right.PREVENTION - Prevents Cataracts– There is plenty of evidence that Vitamin C helps with your eye health in general, but more specifically it has been shown to make a drastic difference in whether or not you’ll develop cataracts in time. Keep in mind that you’ll need to keep up with your Vitamin C levels daily and on an ongoing basis in order to reap the benefits. We were unable to find any studies on whether it helps to get rid of cataracts once you already have them. But since Vitamin C is good for your eyes overall, it makes sense to get enough of it every day.Prevents Stroke– Not only has Vitamin C been shown to help prevent strokes, but it’s a key nutrient to have in your body for post-stroke recovery. It’s understood that Vitamin C is good for your overall brain health, helping to keep things running smoothly, but it’s the combination of lowering your cholesterol, and helping with your arteries that gives it its stroke prevention features. This combo helps to prevent the blockages and clotting that leads to a stroke. It’s easy enough to start eating foods that contain higher amounts of Vitamin C, especially if you have a family history of stroke and heart disease.

Great price for great product
Love the price and the fact that it’s not a horse pill. You can actually swallow the pill without choking. A lot of vitamin c are really big pills. I pay like a third of the price for this, the only difference I can seam to find is name.

Not bad, for the price!
I read several reviews while looking at Amazon's vitamin C, and at first, I was concerned because there were many individuals stating these pills smelled & tasted repugnant; and, that the ingredients were unnecessary & 'shouldn't be in vitamins.'I decided to buy them: 1) because the price was comparable, or better than most; 2) many of the ingredients are in all vitamins & are either naturally occurring, or used for absorption purposes (which you... kinda want with vitamins!) None of the ingredients are toxic, nor should they have any ill effect in your body unless you are already unhealthy, or are allergic (always consult with your doctor -- even if it's switching vitamins, especially if you're predisposed to illnesses 💜)Next is the taste: it isn't candy. These aren't gummies, nor are they artificially flavored, as far as I know. They are NOT supposed to taste excellent, nor should you swish them around over your tastebuds as you would a lozenge. These are vitamins for adults; they are larger and bitter, but not unbearable. There are plenty of non-flavored, or 'nice flavored' vitamins by other brand names that you should check out if you are sensitive to tartness. The taste is not 'fishy' or horrid.THESE ARE NOT capsules, so if you have trouble swallowing larger, oval shaped, pills... These are probably not for you!Four stars for price, comparable brands, taste, shape & size.If you are taking these daily -- they're fine & will do the job. For the price, I highly recommend them!

haven't been sick since we've used it
Doesn't seem to have any side effects and one of the few 1000mg with rose hips. Definitely stayed healthier with these.

Healthy So Far...
I haven't gotten a cold, sore throat, or flu since I started taking these. I am sure they will be put to the test in a few weeks with the kids back to school and the temperature dropping. I will probably buy them again because they are the best value on Amazon.

Smells GREAT!
The customers that complained about the smell must have gotten a bad batch. Mine have a very slight, pleasant smell just like other vitamin C tablets. They are large, but easy to swallow. I have been taking vitamin C for over 30 years and swear by them. I almost did not order these because of the reviews about the smell, but I took a chance and I'm glad I did!
