(SACD-HYBRID) Fire & Rain features an all James Taylor or James Taylor related music program and represents a great change of pace for Jacintha. The recording uses some of the very best L.A. based session musicians, some of them have an extended musical association with James Taylor including Lee Sklar, Dean Parks, Russ Kunkel. Several major hits including Fire & Rain, Walking Man, You've Got A Friend, Sweet Baby James and Shower The People are here and this album represents a superb return to the studio and the first popular vocal album from Jacintha.

Jacintha goes in different direction
I am a big fan of Jacintha and own all her previous albums on cd which are on continuous rotation in my cd changer. I was excited to see she finally had a new album and it was on Grove Note which has a fantastic reputation for releasing great sounding recordings. Unfortunately this new album was a major disappointment. I was expecting more jazz based arrangements as in her previous albums; not the bland country rock arrangements of James Taylor songs dominated by a solo guitar, drums and violin without the presence of brass as was so prominent in earlier albums. I would suggest you try to listen to the album before buying as it is quite expensive in the SACD format.

Not as audiophile as her other CDs
The main reason why I bought this CD was, that I own all her CDs and all of them are really audiophile recorded. This one is not so breathtaking like "Here's to Ben". The recording is good and her performance as usual, but if you expect a similar audiophile experience, you will be disappointed.

Absolute sound
I will admit I haven't heard it yet ,but the absolute sound gave it 5 stars for both music and Sonics. I will write another report once I get it

Great SACD, a bit more prep than some of her music.
James Taylor’s covers, mostly great interpretations, some may not like if they are JT purists. SACD sound excellent, not as relaxed or grooving as some of her more jazzy albums, but still enjoyable

INTERESTING
This is a nice record. She sings well old songs. I listen some minor fragilities in the recording. Lack of transparency and profoundness. I had great expectation considering the reviews I read. It is stupid expensive form a CD and does not deserve. It will be my last of this singer.
