dos it stay cool all night

I have noticed no difference in temperature since putting this on my mattress. It is still very breathable so I guess that would mean it does stay cool.

I'm not sure if I'm understanding how this works. I'm trying to stop bed bugs from crawling on my mattress when I sleep. So if I enclosed my mattress and slept on this enclosed mattress (me sleeping on top of the cover). Will this cover prevent bed bugs from crawling on it?

Common places for the bedbug infestations (where they "hide" when they're not biting you) is in the mattress and box springs. This is the ideal location, because of the proximity to their food source - your blood. What these encasements do is provide a buffer, eliminating the possibility of an infestation if none currently exists, as well as seal the bugs inside if your bed is already infested. Encasements are an important part of a bedbug control strategy, but they can't do everything - they can't keep them off your bed if they hide somewhere else. So what else do you need? Not treated mattress covers, that supposedly either repel or kill bedbugs. They are almost completely worthless. If you actually have bedbugs, they should be treated by an exterminator - expensive, but those guys are pros and know what they're doing. But besides these encasements, there are a few other inexpensive things you can do to keep the bugs off your bed. You need to know a bit about the bedbugs. They can't fly, but they are fast crawlers. And they can also climb vertical surfaces - as long as it has a rough texture - such as walls. But they can't climb on smooth surfaces. So get some cheap traps. A set of 4 costs about $20.00, and they go under the bed legs. The other preventative steps don't cost anything. Make sure that bed and bedding, including pillows, does not touch the floor or a wall. And keep bags and clothing that may be infested off the bed. This should keep you away from becoming a nighttime snack.

Would this fit an 8" mattress? Does it move or make noise if it moves during sleep?

The cover is very deep, much deeper than I require for my mattress, but don't know exactly how deep. It is made of heavy-duty cotton and does NOT make noise during sleep. It is pretty wonderful, actually.

why can it be bedbug proof?

essentially it keeps bed bugs from getting inside the mattress or ones that are already inside (if that's the case) from getting out. at the point where the zippers close on most matress covers there are holes where the bugs can get in and out, on a bed bug mattress cover the point where the zipper closes is covered and sealed with a zip tie.
