Bountea Compost Tea Kit

WHAT A RIDICULOUS PRICE! I have not bought this product, why would I when I could have the same thing for less than $25!! A 5-gallon bucket is maybe $3 at Home Depot and sometimes you can get used ones for free. To aerate (adding oxygen) to the tea just buy a 5-gallon aquarium pump which I see on Amazon for about $10. To hold the compost get a mesh-laundry bag (used to hold delicate items in the wash), about $6 for a pack of 3. Just tie the bag to a rod that lays across the bucket so it suspends like a tea bag. Finally a good bag of compost is $3-$5 for a cubic foot, enough for probably 8-10 batches.If you want a little more convenience you can invest maybe $25 or less on a large cooler that has a spigot on the bottom for easy removal of the tea! How easy was that? And don't forget that the compost used in the tea is still great to use on you plants!

The reviewer who said to get a bucket at the hardware store,an aquarium pump,and a bag of compost got it exactly right. The only thing I would add is that I got very nice mesh paint strainer bags here on Amazon that have elastic to fit around the top of any 5 gallon bucket,rather than the mesh laundry bags suggested on the other review. I actually tried that,and the paint strainers are a finer mesh and no need for anything to hold them up. I make my own compost and add Azomite and worm castings to it(also available on Amazon). That would have been so much cheaper,and just as effective. I guess I was very impressed with the video on Bountea website,with the giant veggies, and was hoping I could get the same results. I saw no difference at all between my own compost tea and this very expensive Bountea kit. The refills are very expensive as well,so if you are growing food to save money,it defeats the purpose. So, the real secret is to start with good soil(equal parts compost,peat,and vermiculite) and add minerals,worm or bat castings,and bio- char. None of that needs to be expensive. I gave it two stars because I like the way the PVC pipe to the air diffuser hangs very securely on the bucket. I really wanted to like this product,but I just have to admit it was one of my more foolish purchases.

I'll have to update this post when I plant my warm weather veggies, but so far I'm enjoying this product. It is a little pricey (which is why I can't give it a 5), but my vegetables got substantially bigger after I gave them a drink of this compost tea (especially my leafy greens).

I recently bought Bountea Compost Tea Brew kit. My babies are growing like crazy!!!! My plants are healthy and green and strong using this compost tea. I highly recommend this product. I also bought extra ingredients to make extra tea.

Excellent Product! Would recommend to anyone wanting to brew their own nutrient teas. Have had great results when using teas I produced.

I purchased the bounty kit when my small farm was struggeling with aphids and short winter days. I was new to brewing so the kit and dvd made it really easy for me to get started. After my first application I noticed our crops rappidly increased in growth and the pest were no longer stunting the plants. I have continued to apply tea monthly and have seen the true potential of my plants (huge yeilds) as well as a diverse chain of benificial insects all starting with the micro organisms!
