Batman: The Greatest Detective of the Greatest Villain?
The first story in this was a interesting one where Superman and Co get shunk down to warn these intelligent parasites to leave this child, however they refuse to believe them which led to a ending similar to Superman's Origin where one pair of these creatures send a pod of their son deep in the body to be raised by good creatures within the body. However the main bulk of the book I found FAR more interesting involved Batman and his on again/off again lover Talia Al Ghul. It starts with her breaking into Batman's cave for her father, but at first glance it appears that nothing has been stolen or damaged until various members of the Justice League are neutralised one by one. It was revealed that Batman had been creating counter-plans against everything in the JLA and now those counter measures were in the hands of Ras Al Ghul. The solutions he came up with for everyone's powers were unique and so effective that they also lost their trust in Batman too.

Batman vs. the JLA
These were originally published as JLA #42-#46, JLA Secret Files #3 and JLA 80 page Giant #1.Similar to how J'onn the Martian Manhunter kept files on all of the JLAers in the beginning, Batman has investigated each of them. But apparently Bats has gone further, developing methods to defeat each of the JLAers, ostensibly if someone or something takes over their minds or bodies. One of Batman's arch enemies, Ra' al Ghul, uses his daughter to get into Bruce Wayne/Batman's life, and steal these files, using them to defeat each one of the JLAers. And uses what he thinks is Batman's own weakness (i.e., his parents) against him.JLA wins again, as they always do, through teamwork. But they then kick Batman out of the JLA for his actions, as they can no longer feel they can trust him. This is why the JLA is one of the best graphic series around. The interaction of the heroes, each with their own strengths and flaws, shines through. Batman has long stood on his own, aloof from the rest of the League, and now he is out...at least until the next story.Fav panel: page 67, Superman and the Red Kyptonite. Now that's gotta hurt.

A superior JLA title which leaves a big ? over a main hero.
As you get to grips with the main storyline of Tower of Babel there is a distinct feeling that the ending is going to be explosive! The story follows one main character, Batman, whilst zipping off to fill you in with all of the action...and there is plenty of that! All of the main JLA'ers are featured but they are not as succesful in defeating the main enemy as they normally are, but then it's not often that they go up against one of their own! This fairly zips along, coming to a good end & makes you want the next book in the series.Superb.

JLA new heights
If you saw R'as al Ghul in the The Dark Knight Rises, you may be intrigued about this character. Really the film just skims the surface of the greatness of R'as al Ghul.In the Tower of Babel, you realise this is an outstanding character, and one of the best JLA stories in recent times. Now out of print and rare, this is due to be reprinted in a larger collection in early 2014.
