Casa de Fruta Pear Preserves - 20 oz.

Grew up with homemade pear preserves (our own orchard ) .When grandmothers and mother passed , the preserves stopped . Braswell made one that was very close but they discontinued the product. So a hunt for something like I grew up with in flavor and texture.I have gone through a dozen brands from small New England and Southern Stores . All were acceptable but some too clear , too runny , or with distinct cinnamon flavor interfering with the pear flavor . This is as near the Southern homemade preserves of my youth as I have found (besides Braswells) . Rich pear flavor not hampered by any spice and that waxy consistency (from slow boils ) . I was skeptical given the European name but it could have easily come out of my mother's kitchen here in Nashville.

I purchased the pear preserves originally from Cafe de Fruta and was delighted to see they sell it on Amazon. It’s very good; it’s thick and sweet yet tangy. A jar will last awhile. Really good on crepes or ice cream!

I ordered two 20 Oz jars. I enjoyed the pear preserves so much. I gave one of the jars to a family member. I plan to purchase this product again, because I haven't seen pear preserves in the stores in a long time.
