BerettaGRIPS 92 96 WOOD OVAL CHKRNG

I purchased this set of Beretta Walnut grips from Optics Planet through Amazon for my Beretta 92A1. They are everything I had hoped they would be. The dark wood offers a classic appeal, and the smoother finish than the stock grips feels great in your hand, but the texture on the lower half ensures the grip is there where you need it. The major difference that is immediately noticeable is the difference in thickness. If you own a 92 your hands are probably on the larger side, but if you're barely fitting the gun with the stock grips I would avoid these as they make the grip markedly wider than with the stock grips. The fit and finish is excellent, aside from a red stain on the top of the right grip (pictured). It's not a deal breaker and I think I like the character it adds but I can see how it would upset some people. When replacing your stock grips you'll notice there are toothed washers that are used to thicken the grip and allow the grip screws to screw all of the way into the threads. You will not need these washers with the wood grip as the grip itself is thick enough to allow proper fitment of the screws. Be careful installing the screws as I've heard stripping the threads is common and troublesome. Overall I would definitely recommend these to someone who can afford the increased grip thickness and is looking for that extra something for an already incredibly attractive firearm. Optics Planet got them to me quickly, as described and well packaged.

Excellent replacement grip panels for the 92FS!I had replaced the original grip panels with a Hogue finger-groove grip, and while these grips are extremely functional, they just did not fit my old school thinking about wood-n-steel. I decided to search for a set of grip panels that would not only be functional but also be appeasing to the eye. I found that the Beretta walnut grip panels fit both requirements.The grain is excellent as is the insetting (logo) and checkering. The fit of each panel is flush with the frame of the pistol where it is supposed to be. The grip panels are nicely rounded and blend well into the frame. The checkering is not aggressive and lends to a positive feel when gripping the firearm.I would have liked if Beretta had flared the bottom of each panel slightly to match the contour of the grip frame, but it is certainty not a game stopper because the panels do not.I am well pleased with the grip panels; they are functional as they are appealing.

Awesome attention to detail. The finishing is top quality and smooth making shooting enjoyable from the draw to the squeeze of the trigger. The grips work perfectly with and with out the factory lock washers.

I like wood and steel, traditional taste I guess.These came quick, no damage and perfect fit with the stock screws. Mine came not as dark as I would have liked however, I know of no other way to get the"just right" color without being at the factory and pick them out as they become ready.The quality is great, the fit is perfect, the look is classic. I would buy these again. The one star ding is only because I wish they were a little darker. I'm not sure if me oiling them will help but I will try.

I knew walnut would improve its appearance, and it really does. The stock grips have a more secure feel and these are smoother but get the job done.

This thing looks cool! But it adds ~2mm of thickness which is OK but the added thickness makes it awkward to manipulate the safety and the magazine release. Maybe shooters with very long thumbs can appreciate it.
