Zoo MedDeluxe Shovel Scooper 0.8 oz

The media could not be loaded.  I gave this five stars, because I bought a product based partially on other reviews and my past experiences, which are vast, with kitty litter scooping. The product works as intended, but I've posted a video to further illustrate how this item works with kitty sand and not lizard type sand, which is finer. It works well, just more slowly than a regular cat litter scooper. Please view the video and then decide if this is for you. :-)

I use Sustainably Yours cat litter which is fine like sand. This works perfectly and gets put all the little particles from the clumps that might break. I’m left with clean cat litter that I NEVER have to change. Just scoop what’s dirty and toss that out.

I received the Zoo Med Deluxe shovel Scooper on time through the mail, but I feel the envelop packaging style might be more then likely cheaper fore shipping it does have its draw backs fore the buyer. Our scoop came smashed flat , that wasn't to big of an issue to transform it back into shape because its made out of a thick screen metal that is flexible and the frame is sturdy. So with your hands you can put pressure on the metal screen and manipulated back into shape .. but there are some sharp edges on the brim of the frame you need to be careful of . I should of wore thick leather gloves..but with that said I end up with a few slice on the top layer of skin of my fingers and palm of hand, no blood, it was like paper cuts. If you use hand sanitizer those cuts will sting. I'm suggesting to whoever does the shipping to ship in a " small box for this product, Instead of thee envelope. I'm not shipping it back. I can still use it, I wish the scoop was a little wider. Thank you

The small mesh is perfect for sifting thru shells to snag the mini ones.

This is useless for the kind of litter I use (Tidy Cats with charcoal); the litter bits do not sift through the mesh. I was SO hopeful that this would function the same as a similar (but sturdier) mesh litter shovel I had purchased years ago at a cat show, but it did not measure up in any respect. If you use sand or something with tiny, tiny litter pieces, it might be great, though.

Great for ultra fine sand. However I have pool filter sand and its too coarse for that... rendering it useless.

I had been using a kitty litter scoop for my beardies sand. It sucked. When I got this scooper, I was amazed at the amount of uneaten food and waste I was able to remove from the sand. It's not super sturdy, as it just metal mesh you can't pick up big rocks with it, but it works awesome for its intended use! Their sand looks like new and we will get many extra months out of it because of the great scooper!

I'm using this to catch little bits that are missed by the regular scooper when I clean out my cat's litter box. I made some of the holes a little bigger with a corn cob holder spokes. Even so most cat litter will not go through this but it works enough to get the job done.

Unfortunately it would not work on wood pelt cat litter. Its well made and very study, would work well with sand

Uso la sabbia gatto extra fine agglimerante e speravo che questa paletta potesse risolversi il problema dei residui di sabbia piccoli di pipì e far passare solo quella asciutta e pulita. In realtà essendo i fori estremamente piccoli devi stare lì parecchio tempo a setacciare quindi perdi tanto tempo. Anche se il suo lavoro lo fa... credo sia perfetta per chi usa sabbia veramnete molto molto fine. In fatti questa sarebbe indicata per rettili ma speravo facesse un buon lavoro anche per sabbia gatti. Mi vorrebbe una grana leggermente più aperta...

We use this scoop to help keep our chicken run clean, which is grounded with sand. It is so comfortable to use and the shape is ideal for getting into corners too. Liked it so much we bought a second one a year later so we could both use one at the same time.
