can you return this item if it doesn’t work?

I had a problem with one of mine and they sent me another perfectly working one at no cost. So I'm sure if you talk to them they'd be happy to take a return as well these guys were great.

I keep getting no signal when trying to connect the system. i also bought an hdmi adapter for it to work on a modern tv. any suggestions or advice?

Yes, it depends on the hdmi converter. Most of them have a power source. Make sure the power source is connected to the wall as well. Beyond that, if you are getting no signal, there is a number of reasons why the tv could have no signal, and it may be that the game needs cleaning, the jumper pack needs cleaning, or something is not connected properly. Contact the seller directly who sold you the item.
