Not as helpful for people with dementia
I bought these hoping they would give my siblings and me good topics and questions to ask a relative who has dementia. However, the questions on the backs of the cards were not very helpful. Also, the backs of the cards have a "Did you know" kind of trivia about topics related to the picture on the front of the card--but most people with dementia don't care about that and they'll never remember any of it.Also, the questions are yes or no questions, not open ended. This does nothing to help a conversation along. The back of the Camera card has questions about being photogenic ("Do you think you are photogenic?"), having a passport ("Do you have a passport?"), kinds of photos they kept in a photo album, and then irrelevant questions and trivia: whether the person would rather take pictures in San Francisco or Yosemite National Park, how studies show that the left side of the face is more attractive than the right, and that the 1900 Kodak Brownie camera sold for $1. These things rarely do anything to further a conversation with a dementia person. I can think of five questions off the top of my head that will add to a conversation more efficiently than these.

These are great with older adults and dementia patients
Since I've gotten these, I use them 5 days a week as I am a mental health therapist that goes into nursing homes. They are good for the older adults that are cognitively intact, slightly, and moderately demented patients. I wish they would make more of these and for the baby boomers. Worth the price.

Great to have for activities for people with dementia.
Great to have for activities for people with dementia. It keeps their mind working and working better. Have been using these and other products and have had very good results. We had a speech therapist come in for my mom to learn to help her and these type of activities help to rewire the brain. Memories are there just hard for them to get to. These exercises help with that. My only complaint is the name of the item should not have been on the front with the item. But i fixed up a card that fits exactly to cover the names so it worked out in the end.

Acceptable with room for improvement
My dad has dementia and we worked with these cards. They are culturally extremely Americanized. I could have done without bringing up Ann Frank. They were effective and useful in large print and picture format when utilized with a good methodology.

Excellent product to help facilitate engagement and enjoyment of person with dementia.
These are super for doing activity with person with dementia. Use the questions on the back, more or few depending on the person, to help you create a conversation. Their other conversation cards and their books are also the best around, in my opinion.
