Michael Healy Designs Pinecone Door Knocker - Brass (Premium Size)

Very bad design and manufacture. Item came with 2 plastic screws for attaching to door that do not fit (diameter is too wide on screws) . I purchased stainless steel screws to fit to find out that the thread on the fitting plate will only take 2 to 3 turns and that's it. It is not sufficient to hold item on door as item weighs 1 kg.Also, the fitting plate is less than 1/2 a centimetre wide and the holding pin is only 1 millimetre.Item is also twisted/bent and will not hang straight even if I could put it on my door.THIS ITEM IS NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE.I recommend that you don't waste your money or time on this. Still trying to sort this out since Monday 12th Sept and it's now Monday 19th September.Update: 27th September. Item has been returned/post back to seller. Looking forward to receiving my refund.UPDATE: 3RD OCTOBER. REFUND HAS BEEN ISSUED.

I had trawled the internet for a suitable solid brass door knocker, having failed to find other than the standard "Urn" locally and was delighted with the range that was offered. Ordering was simple and delivery arrived in a few days--excellent service. Well packed and as specified.Installation was easy apart from some idiot before me had drilled the original door knocker hole off centre which meant patching and filling, however duly installed, it knocks effectively and has attracted lots of compliments.

Great door knocker, but not easy to fit to thick wooden doors. Mine was supplied with plastic/nylon threads which were too big for the nuts provided, and the depth of thread in the pine cone was minimal meaning it took a lot of crafty work to get it to hang on the door.Service and delivery was fine.

The pinecone is a good brass colour, weight and size. Really thrilled with my purchase. So much nicer than the standard old fashioned knocker. We have received many compliments.
