Matisse Picasso

Large, heavy, coffeetable book. Dimensions are 12.5 x 10 x 1.5 inches. Somehow this surprised me, although I guess it shouldn't have, being a 400 page, full-color, art history book. Not your usual curl-up-in-bed book!What I want to know is: Why does Matisse's name always appears before Picasso's in these titles? Maybe I'll find out by reading this book...

Book was in condition that they described. The jacket was worn but the pages inside were in very good condition

Like this book but it seems a little far-reaching in the authors descriptions of the artists purpose while describing comparative illustrations. It is interesting however and terrifically illustrated. There aren't many pics that aren't already published in many other books written about these artists. Still, I find the detailed comparisons about, and communications to-and-from Picasso and Matisse to be endlessly interesting. Thoughtful point of view.
