Worked perfectly
2012 Impreza. This worked perfectly to maintain the steering wheel controls when installing an aftermarket stereo. Easy to program using the website, just enter your car and stereo and programming takes like 15 seconds. Then install with your stereo as directed.Only negative was the box was ripped and taped up plus 2 days late.

There is no disappointment with that!
If you plan to upgrade your car stereo and don't want to lose your steering wheel control, its a must to get a SW module. This is the one! I was pleasantly surprised how well thought through the engineering was on this product! I thought that was overpriced but I didn't mind because saved a lot of time compared that I had with an other product. Step by step setup is straightforward and actually made enjoyable changing my car stereo. Success at first try!Highly recommended!

Works for 2012 Tacoma + New Kenwood
Bottom line: It works!Despite graphically rich and relatively easy to use software, the module programming ("flashing") process is a little sketchy. To start, Gmail sent the account confirmation email to Spam folder and warned me not to open it as the source is a "know source" of malware. But without any other option to proceed, I clicked to finish account registration. After that gamble, flash programming was easy. But there was a tiny hiccup: the model of radio (kmm-bt332) as not listed. So, I picked the closest looking model number. And it works! (Big thanks to Kenwood for using the same single-wire steering wheel remote control protocol for multiple models.)Couple more nits RE: Wiring diagram used to help with the install. i) the font is smaller than necessary it is almost illegible when printed to paper, 2) Kenwood uses a 16-pin ISO connector, not the 20-pin connector illustrated. These hiccups cost one star. But the fact I can keep the steering wheel controls after a new radio was installed, makes this a five-star result.

I have no complaints
Maestro is a great company. They are very responsive when you email them. The software they make is extremely helpful for installs. The only issue I had with this specific unit was in part my own fault. There was a period of time between when my install of the HU in my vehicle ran into issues so i had to postpone for a couple months. These have some sort of internal battery, so if you don't use them in the normal use like you would everyday turning your vehicle on. Eventually they wont turn back on. Luckily it was still within the first year of buying it so I was able to take advantage of the limited year warranty so no complaints at all on my end. Well maybe just a small one being that they might mention the battery thing. But who knows maybe it does say that and I just missed it. However if you need to retain the steering wheel controls on your vehicle, this is it. Look no further. Highly recommend

Works like a Charm in a Subaru Crosstrek 2016
Got an aftermarket Boss radio installed on my Subaru Crosstrek 2016.Since got all the harnesses from Metra, I initially purchased a Metra Axxess ASWC-1 in order to keep the Steering Wheel Controls (SWC). After initial installation everything worked just fine except the SWC. After expending more than 12 hours triple checking connections, hardwiring with solder, a few hours in the phone with technical support, and even a replacement unit, the ASWC-1 unit simply didn't work on my car. While troubleshooting the issue I found an article indicating that even though Metra states that their device works with Subarus 2016 and older, there are documented issues between their device and all the Subarus with a StarLink module (believe most Subarus 2016 and older have a StarLink module). So I decided to give a try to the Maestro. Oh boy, what a difference. Not only worked perfectly and I was able to retain all my steering wheel controls, but also the setup process was a lot user friendly. You just need to pre-setup the device in a computer before installation (for your particular car and stereo system) and make sure to connect the cables correctly. Online instructions and setup process are a lot better and more user friendly than the ones for the first device that I tried. Not sure if this applies for other brands and models, but based on my personal experience, the Maestro seems to be a more developed device, both hardware and software wise.

maestro poor quaality
hooked it up after programming, worked correctly for about 2 weeks, then none of the button on steering wheel would have same use, volume up would change stations, volume down would black out screen, etc. everyday it was something different, then I tried axxess, installed it and set it , it has worked right for the last 2 months. don't waist your money on maestro

It mostly works.
The software was easy to navigate, it was easy to install, and it did get most of my steering wheel controls to work. I say most, because the software flashed duplicate functions for 4 of the buttons on my 2020 WRX (Source, Voice Command, Answer, and Hang Up) so I ended up not being able to set all of those on my head unit. I think Source was the only one of those 4 I could actually get to work.
