An easy way to add an extra safety layer
We got this bracelet when my one year old son started running off. He is past that phase, but I still like the extra layer of security just in case when we are in a crowded or unfamiliar place. We also purchased a printable QR code that we keep in his diaper bag, our wallets, and taped to his car seat. How it works:1. You create an account online. This is reasonably easy to do on a computer; I did not try it on a tablet or smartphone. You can have multiple children on the account. Each QR code is matched to a child, so it doesn't if you assign three different QR codes to one kid. It will always pull up the same information. You can easily change which QR code goes with which child and update anything. You decide how much information you want available to someone who scans it. (We have it so the person could see our child's first name and our phone numbers. If our child had allergies we would have those shown too.) You can have other information saved in case your child is missing to easily give to the police. We update his height and weight after every doctor's appointment (and include the date,) along with current photos, scars and identifying features, etc. It has all his emergency numbers and doctors/dentist.2. If the QR code is scanned, it pulls up the information you selected to be visible. So if someone our son, they'd have my phone number, my husband's phone number, and some other emergency contacts. There is also a number you can call or you can enter the information on their website if you don't have a QR scanner. If the QR code is scanned it reports the coordinates it was scanned to your account BUT it doesn't show up right away. When we tested it at our house, we couldn't see the scan for over an hour. This is definitely a flaw.I like that I can post something on it that would help my child be found without displaying personal information. That way in an emergency someone might notice the information was there, but someone walking by doesn't have my child's name and phone number easily. The bracelet itself is durable. My son can take it off, but usually leaves it on. He isn't picky about things being soft and tagless, so I can't say that means it's comfortable - but he likes taking things off, so probably is forgetting about it. It's wide for a toddler and bulky made of stiff fabric, but isn't scratchy. It fit my son fine when he was one and I can actually fit it on my wrist barely (I have a pretty small wrist) so I think it will last well.

TERRIFYING
I got one of these a while back for my special needs son and activated and registered it through the Smart Kids ID website, as well as provided all of my contact information. At the time, I scanned it and was impressed with how quickly it provided my information to contact me that he had been found. I also received an email letting me know that it had been scanned. Well, I found it in his room yesterday and scanned it to see if it still worked the same as it did the first time and it pulled up contact info for a complete stranger across the country for me to contact, still had my sons name and I even received an email that it had been scanned but somehow someone had changed the contact person info. I tried calling SmartKidsID to figure out what happened and can not ever talk to anyone.

It's okay. Needed to trim the Velcro.
I bought this to replace the band for my son's medical ID. It's okay. The Velcro wasn't trimmed very well and was scratching his skin so I had to clip it a few times with scissors so he'd stop taking it off.

AWESOME!!!
Awesome!! Seriously couldn't be happier with it! My 4yr old son (ASD) wears it n actually leaves it on even tho its Velcro. I like that you can buy more than one n link them together (incase the child takes off the bracelet you can buy the shoe tag n have them both) for one set of contacts. You can add a picture as well for visual confirmation of your child. We plan to buy the larger size when he grows out of this one.

Love it
Bought it for my 5 year old. I really like it and so does she. She has Hypertensive Sensitive Skin so it was hard to find a fabric I.D that wouldn't irritate her skin. I love that I can upload all her info on this I.D. She has 5 medical conditions and fitting that on to a I.D is very hard but now its all in one place and easy to access
